Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i grew up watching my dad play this game and every now and then i would get to sit on his lap and "Play" i may not have known exactly how to play the game but i had fun with my dad guiding me on what i needed to do. so when I saw this game on Steam it was a no brainer on buying it. the moment i started it up i was brought back to that moment being a little kid. When I visted my dad for the holidays a few weeks later i told him i had a computer game i wanted him to play with me , The smile on his face when i started it up was everything .1000/10 highly recommmend .
Please please please do a modern retake on this. I love this and seeing it in an updated skin would be absolutely amazing.

I desperately want someone to remake this game. instead of the moment to moment action of more modern spy games, where you infiltrate bases and assassinate targets, Covert Action is about piecing a mystery together from data you have to gather through infiltration, bugs, trackers, wire taps, and a passive data network from your coworkers. the brilliance is everytime you start a new game, you get a new villain agency and plot to untangle, complete with agents to foil through tailing, tracking, intel gathering, sneaking through buildings and around guards to plant bugs or photograph evidence, or code breaking, all with the goal of stopping the enemy from doing what they want, with failure representing a better opportunity to get em next time,
my wife and I enjoy the crypotography of the "Prose and Codes" game and we like mystery-solving games, so "covert action" was pretty good experience, despite the thirty-five year old age... there is a unique, randomized criminal plot that gets generated each time that you play... one big complaint was the stinky, real-time combat mini-game purchased this title in a "sid meiers bundle" somewhere... but was anything done to update software to justify the steam store price?

Nostalgia from some of my earliest PC gaming years. Sid's games were an awesome introduction to my early PC gaming experience.
ye! A remake would be swell though.
This game is super old and hard to use. Controls are difficult. Seems to run reasonably well though, so if you used to play this game back in the day it will probably work well, but if you've never played before, don't bother with this one.
I have to echo the other negative reviews here: this is great if you remember playing it back in the day but it's indecipherable to new players. If you don't already know how to play - or don't fancy reading through this game's 100 page (!) manual - this game will just prove to be baffling.
