About
In this high resolution arcade vertical shmup, learn how to use the power of Shockwaves to destroy your enemies and also to score the highest points.
You can either charge and release your own massive Shockwave or use the ones released by destroyed enemies to your advantage, timing is the key, just keep in mind, the size of the enemies Shockwave depends on their sizes.

Shockwave Triggers is a pure arcade game, which is thanks to its tight controls, tiny hitboxes for both player and bullets, simple but effective mechanics and the fully customizable support of gamepads, keyboard and arcade sticks.
In Shockwave Triggers, you can cancel most enemy bullets by releasing your Shockwave super attack, or by timing the explosions of enemies, since these do also create their own shockwave when dying. The enemies shockwave's size depends on the enemy's size and it doesn't hard the player.
Not only for attacking, but you can also use Shockwaves to get higher scores, it's all about timing and learning enemies behaviors.
Shockwave Triggers also rewards the player for being risky thanks to its bullets grinding system; getting closer to enemies bullets makes your fire power stronger and also recharges your super attack meter.

Shockwave Triggers is a high resolution vertical pixel art shoot'em up with colorful and sharp visuals. Everything on screen is hand made/painted and all animations are made traditionally frame by frame. As for the art style, the game aims to offer a retro anime look from the beloved 90s.

Also, the game offers a proper Tate mode for player with vertical mounted screens.

Each game has a story, even a super "arcady "vertical shooter has one. In Shockwave Triggers, you have to save your little sister Norah from the WW Empire who kidnaped her. Somehow, they have a certain use for her secret ability in their plans to rain over this post apocalyptic world that relies on crystals to get power.

Although an arcade style game, Shockwave Triggers offer a console like experience thanks to the different features available:
Two different players: Each play has their own playstyle. Amira: is the more traditional shmup player. Collects items and power ups to get stronger. Turbo B: is more of the charge and wait style, he gets stronger by shooting enemies down.
Difficulties: The game offers 4 levels of difficulty, to each their own.
Tate/Yoko modes: Since the game is a vertical shooter, a Tate mode is a must. The purists can set their monitors vertically and enjoy the true full screen mode, just like on the real arcade hardware.
Controllers and keyboard: The game supports a great range of controllers as well as the keyboard. Players can configure the keys as they wish.
Arcade mode: Play the single player mode and aim for high score on the online leaderboard.
Two coop players mode: Enjoy local multiplayer on shared screen, just like the old good days.
Boss rush: Train and fight against every boss you've already reached.
Gallery: Unlock and enjoy different artworks, concepts and fanarts.
Trophies: Enjoy the challenge of unlocking the many trophies the game offers.
Game shop: Use the in-game earned money and unlock additional credits as well as new features.
Jukebox: where you can enjoy the full soundtrack made by the amazing Big Impact Sound.
Online leaderboard: Take the challenge online and see how high you can get on the online leaderboard.

Very nice shmup that reminds me alot of psikyo games. Awesome pixel art too.
Really fun shmup. Part Gunbird, Gigawing, and I think I see some R Type influence in some of the level design, but the whole game reads as a love letter to the genre. Gameplay is solid, mechanics are simple, tutorial is quick and thorough. And optional. My sole complaint is that enemy projectiles can get obscured by the crystals or the popup. I also don't know if purchased upgrades are per character, or single run only. It was shattering to spend loads of crystals on credits so I could practice a level, only to lose it when I came back to the game. If those upgrades are temporary, it'd be great to know.

Хороший инди shmup
Highly addictive gameplay and score mechanics, paired with a wonderful and energetic art style. Different difficulty modes make the game accessible for all, not just hardcore SHMUP fans.
Full disclosure I was brought on a pre-release volunteer tester after trying the demo. If I didn't like the game I wouldn't have been a tester but full disclosure is always best. A nice little game that satisfies that shmup itch. The art is nice hand drawn pixel art and the ost is good, I especially like the stage 2 music. The game has plenty of content, visibility options, TATE mode, online leaderboards, various difficulty levels for different skill levels, boss rush mode and unlockables. Really cool game by a lone dev.
shmup action at its finest very polished project, controls are in CAVE Style, very smooth gameplay. Thank you , Shinu
Fun little shmup! Interesting scoring system with tight controls, and pretty reasonable difficulty level options if you're newer to the genre.
A gorgeous looking shmup with a classic feel in it's enemy design and patterns. The shockwave mechanic adds a fresh twist and the bullet cancels are very satisfying when you pull them off. Clearly a ton of passion was put into making this game.
20 minutes into this game so far everything is great. Haven't reached the late stages yet (I suck), but it was a lot of fun. Some minor bugs and typos here and there, but nothing game breaking. The soundtrack is awesome too. Also just checked it out very quick, but this game is loaded with bonus content to unlock, nice touch for a short arcade game. Totally recommend it for shmups lovers.
An incredible indie shmup effort with gorgeous art and addictive gameplay. It will feel familiar to CAVE fans, especially those who have play ESParade/galuda before (that's a good thing!). Great controller support and customization options. The two playable characters are unique and require completely different play styles, adding depth and replayability. It's hard! But there's a lot of customization available to tweak that difficulty to your liking. Beyond just different difficulty settings you can also enable auto-bombing and hit box visibility. If you like shmups, please buy this game. Sure, it's good to support devs who go out on a limb to make niche games like this but more than that, SHOCKWAVE TRIGGERS is a fun, feature rich, polished game. An easy recommend.
