About

I’ve always loved ships and boats, tall ships, steamers, pre-dreadnought french monstrosities, I love em all.
ShipShaper is a explorative ship builder I made for the simple pleasure of shaping boats and ships. You pull, push, and drag forms into place, creating everything from humble fishing vessels to tall ships, ironclads, and early dreadnoughts.
You can create historical ships, fantasy ships, steampunk you name it.
It's a boat designer married to experimental interfaces that are intended to take away the tedium from designing boats. No 3D skills required, no endless stacks of cubes, just some organic shaping and attaching props and functional items to create whatever ship you want.
When you’re done, you can place your ships into a world and sail them, the game does a proper analysis of your creation, its propulsion, hull shape and weight, all in order so you can properly enjoy and test your creation.
ShipShaper is about creating a foundational technology that will power my own future games, connect my franchise but also empower other creators to have fun with ships and have a usable output, game-ready and usable.
Features:
Free-form building
Responsive shaping
Expanding library of details and props
Test your ship, get sailing behavior that is derived from your design.
Export FBX or STL 3d files with a license to use how you see fit.

i built a horrible ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a ship that fell into the water immediately and had over 10k horsepower, 10/10 no notes

For clarity I was a tester for this game. Shipshaper is a tool that allows you to easily create good looking ships, with the flexibility to create interesting and unique designs. That might not sound that impressive until you realise that most design tools are not easy to use, are ugly, and often restrictive. Shipshaper turns designing into an enjoyable artistic experience that allows you to create beautiful models, with features to export or test them out on the sea. I sunk 20 hours into an early version that was missing many of the key features now available. If you like design or building games of any kind, let alone just ships, I can definitely reccomend this.
Just picked this up, and I think it's a tremendously promising tool/game. Would definitely be interested in seeing where it goes :D
I really love the mechanics and the overall concept of ShipShaper! Building and sailing your own ships is a lot of fun, and I really enjoy the open-sea experience. One feature I would really love to see in the future is a toggleable UI/HUD option while sailing. It would be amazing to hide the interface completely and just enjoy the view of the ship and the ocean, especially for taking videos. Overall 10/10 game
Very fun ship building game/tool. I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops! And I may need to look into getting some ships printed out! :D
Simple and intuitive and yet you can create such cool stuff with it. Being able to export these rights-free is amazing, these kinds of devs deserve to be supported.
What's there to hate about a good shipbuilder? Plus, this one has sails! 10/10, would sail again.
This is amazing! I didn't even know this was coming out when I was looking at getting back into Bulwark Falconer Chronicles. Was a very nice surprise so now I can build my own dream ships and add them to the game or 3D print them etc! This is so cool and fun/easy to use. Definitely worth the price. Thank you Tomas Sala! (Best solo dev out there)
