About

I’ve always loved ships and boats, tall ships, steamers, pre-dreadnought french monstrosities, I love em all.
ShipShaper is a explorative ship builder I made for the simple pleasure of shaping boats and ships. You pull, push, and drag forms into place, creating everything from humble fishing vessels to tall ships, ironclads, and early dreadnoughts.
You can create historical ships, fantasy ships, steampunk you name it.
It's a boat designer married to experimental interfaces that are intended to take away the tedium from designing boats. No 3D skills required, no endless stacks of cubes, just some organic shaping and attaching props and functional items to create whatever ship you want.
When you’re done, you can place your ships into a world and sail them, the game does a proper analysis of your creation, its propulsion, hull shape and weight, all in order so you can properly enjoy and test your creation.
ShipShaper is about creating a foundational technology that will power my own future games, connect my franchise but also empower other creators to have fun with ships and have a usable output, game-ready and usable.
Features:
Free-form building

As an age of sail ships lover this is great! of course i would like to have even more parts and options in the future. I hope the developer will add also single rigging element to increase the detail around masts and sails area. I would love also different background sceneries for screenshots and more detailed behaviour for sea waves and sail movement.

自由造出我心中的驱逐舰,造完以后兴冲冲拉到海上。 我:终于要开战了吗?! 游戏:你看你的船好不好看就完事了。 行吧。 结果站海边看了十分钟,还挺开心。

Shipshaper is really starting to shape up! It's a lot more stable than the demo, with more options and improvements already being implemented. I imported my first attempt at a ship from the demo, and was able to improve upon my icebreaker model with ease. The solo dev's passion for, and knowledge of, boats and ships is clearly noticeable in every aspect of the game. The ability to import your creations into Bulwark is a lovely addition as well!
Great tool and fun at that. Didn't spend much time on the full release yet as you can see but got drawn in by the demo already. Seeing what people create in the workshop makes me all giddy already.
Great improvements over the pre-early-access demo, shipbuilding is in a really solid state. Lots of pieces, good color control, and great performance. I'd love to see some piece symmetry linking options. It can be somewhat difficult to make very symmetric ships if you're going crazy with piece placement. I dread on what it means interpreting that request in this mostly diegetic UI. Maybe a group select option (i.e. ctrl-click placed pieces) and then a button down by the add/bulldoze to mirror across the centerline? Also, a way to freeze the world view mode, bound to something like spacebar, would be cool; I think you could get some neat shots via that. (The engine already seems to halt when clicking outside of the game window so hopefully a quick add.) I'd love to get an action cam zoom down a through-line on the ship in a storm or something. Could see it expanded into a scene dressing thing with placing explosion, spark, or fire FX from the other falconeer games. There's so much to go from here during its development, and it's already so cool.
Nice little ship building game with easy controls. Cool for fans of Falconeer and those interested in ship models; this game allows a high degree of customization. Dev is very responsive and dedicated to improving the game, so future updates are sure to come. (This is my support for indie dev 🩵)
Great shipbuilding game, you can make quite highly detailed ships without spending hours learning or creating the ship which isn't usually the norm for games of this genre. Played the demo of this more in a month than I did NavalArt in 4ish years since its easier to get a grasp on. Highly recommended
Exactly what it says on the tin. Sculpt a ship by clicking and dragging, slap some pretty neat pre-fabbed parts on the side. Another simple banger from a favorite dev of mine. Reasonable price for what it is, too.
