About

I’ve always loved ships and boats, tall ships, steamers, pre-dreadnought french monstrosities, I love em all.
ShipShaper is a explorative ship builder I made for the simple pleasure of shaping boats and ships. You pull, push, and drag forms into place, creating everything from humble fishing vessels to tall ships, ironclads, and early dreadnoughts.
You can create historical ships, fantasy ships, steampunk you name it.
It's a boat designer married to experimental interfaces that are intended to take away the tedium from designing boats. No 3D skills required, no endless stacks of cubes, just some organic shaping and attaching props and functional items to create whatever ship you want.
When you’re done, you can place your ships into a world and sail them, the game does a proper analysis of your creation, its propulsion, hull shape and weight, all in order so you can properly enjoy and test your creation.
ShipShaper is about creating a foundational technology that will power my own future games, connect my franchise but also empower other creators to have fun with ships and have a usable output, game-ready and usable.
Features:
Free-form building

현재까지 나온 선박 제작 시뮬레이션 중에선 제일 직관적이지만 디테일이 괜찮습니다. 앞으로의 업데이트가 기대되는군요
As a learning artist with a Pirate AU this game was a nice find for me. thanks to this game I'm able to design and create the ships in my worlds and use them as reference for my art. it was a joy to bring these ships to life and see them sail. Some Feedback: the position based construction is a little Janky it can be difficult to find the construction you wanna place in a position you want it in, and I've noticed some things can be placed on the castles but not on the actual deck. Eg the deck cannon can be placed on a castle but on the regular deck it is not listed, I simply place the gun on the castle then move it onto where I want it on the deck but it can be inconvenient. Another thing is some of the sliders seem to do very little or is at least unclear to me what they do. Suggestions for Future: -with the limited options available it would be cool to be able to Import our own flag designs as many ships have unique flags. -same could be said about figure heads, a way to design our own would be cool but understand that would be a whole other endeavor to develop, so some more options instead would be nice. -Texture and florescent glow for ghost ships! -Ram options are good but please let us shape our own and allow them to be bigger
Ship Shaper is simultaneously exactly what it says on the tin and so much more. If you like ships, you're going to have a LOT of fun both building and sailing them around to take pics. You can even test the physics of your ship, to see if your favourite design would keel over or sail. The visual style is phenomenal, and there is a lot of granularity to the ship editor, and you will constantly discover new ways of arranging components to create new designs, and the dev is very passionate about this project and keeps adding new stuff to it. Cannot recommend this ship building sandbox enough.
while i recommend this for ship building, it has some amazing features and you can build and sail all kinds of ships. I can not recommend it for fdm printing atm well at least with a 0.4 nozzle and a 0.08 layer height even at a big scale (had to cut one ship into 3 just to fit it on the build plates), it just does not pick up the detail needed to print a lot of the features for example lights, some windows, steering wheels and posts do not connect to rails. i built a basic canal narrowboat and it wouldn't pick up the doors or windows i used on it.
Its Pretty good but I got a couple of issues that can probably be resolved. Pros: Fun Builder and seeing your Ship designs sail is entertaining the Price is pretty reasonable The Graphics look good without it being a major damper on performance Cons: The Controls are abit wonky to use pretty often. The Export Process while it would seem straight forward requires abit more knowledge beforehand as theirs no Tutorial on exporting.
