A shame to see an RPG with such tight mechanics held back by such bland, unlikable characters. The choices you can make and their impact on the story are also incredibly manichean, everything lacks nuance and aside from very few keys moments here and there, predictable too. It's still a solid game to sink hours into, if you're willing to skip through dialogs that is.
буквально лучшая игра Atlus на текущий момент. Vengeance доводит механики серии до совершенства: боевая система глубока, музыка буквально пробирает до мурашек, а атмосфера постапокалиптического Токио затягивает с головой. 10/10, высшая точка серии
I played Persona 3 and 5 before this. It is more 'global' than Personae, which I found more 'personal'. I enjoyed the battles and the themes. Canon of Vengeance was the choice in my blind run: the world has to change.
Just started the game, but the technical upgrade over the older titles is immediately obvious. Quick takeaways: -The game looks amazing and the UI is very snappy. Unlocked framerate is available if you like that sort of thing. -Unlimited save points. You won't have to hunt down specific terminals and lose a crap ton of progress off bad RNG. -Dual audio is available. The Japanese voice acting is immaculate as usual, but the English dub is pretty decent too if you prefer that. I have a long way to go, but it's a much more refined, polished experience so far. It'd be very easy to jump into this even if you've only played modern Persona games. Will update the review once I get deeper into the game and hit the real bosses.
Can gameplay carry an entire game? Not if there's bugs and crashes. One would expect more polish in a single player modern series like this but for some reason, it isn't. Compared to older titles, SMT V falls short in too many areas.
