The London Times started it all – calling the murders the work of an ancient Egyptian curse. I accused the tabloid of capitalizing on the superstitions of the populace. Yet, three men were dead, with the wrappings of a 4000-year old mummy binding their fates together.

Buf, no te sé.
I have to give it a negative review, because of the subtitles not working and some other bugs. In this game you have to pay good attention to what is being said by eyewitnesses and suspects. The sound quality isn't good enough to hear exactly what names are being mentioned; so subtitles are really needed to find the next person you want to interview. There also seems to be quite a lot of side stories that are ignored by the game and where you don't get any satisfying answer to what was going on.

The game is buggy. Even after finding the murderer the judge tells us to keep getting clues. Even after visiting almost all locations, the judge won't still allow us to make our case. Going to two different locations sometimes play the same video but still deduce the hint points. I played the table top version and it is by far superior.
First of all - remember this is a 6 year old game, utilises videos and text instead of animation, and covers a single case! Now that's out of the way... it's short, but not bad for a single session of gaming. If you enjoy the board game (221B Baker Street, etc) or the interactive movie version of Clue, then you'll enjoy this one. It's a lot of reading, picking out the relevant names and following up only on those. As it's 'demerit point' based, you want to have as low a score as possible - so visiting the cheese shop is really unnecessary (yes, I went to the cheese shop!). Is it as good as the other SH games? No - I liked animations and various dialogue options. But that's not to say that it's not worth playing in its own right, as long as you think of it as a board game with videos (which are coming back in vogue, I hear...)

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Case of the Mummy’s Curse is a classic FMV (full-motion video) game that still delivers a satisfying detective experience even by today’s standards. If you enjoy games that test your deductive reasoning without spoon-feeding you answers, this title is definitely worth a look. Story and Setting The game immerses you in Victorian London, capturing the era’s atmosphere through its live-action video sequences and detailed visuals. In this case, you’re investigating a string of mysterious deaths connected to a recently discovered Egyptian mummy. The premise pulls you into a classic Holmes mystery full of intrigue and misdirection. The narrative is richly detailed, so paying attention to every conversation and clue is crucial. Gameplay At its core, this is a deductive reasoning game. You’re given a list of locations and people to visit. Each visit triggers FMV scenes, where characters share information or leave hints. Your goal is to piece together the clues, track down leads, and ultimately solve the case. Unlike modern games that often hold your hand, this game expects you to figure out the connections yourself. You’ll want to keep a notepad handy to jot down leads, names, and locations—it’s like being an actual detective. A good tip is to visit everyone you think might have even the slightest connection to the case. This will help you piece together seemingly unrelated details. However, be careful not to waste too much time on red herrings, as efficiency is part of how your performance is judged. Hints Without Spoilers Start with the newspaper for each day. They provide background context and sometimes hidden leads that aren’t immediately obvious. Don’t just stick to the “main” suspects. Visiting seemingly irrelevant characters can uncover surprising connections. Timing matters. Follow up on clues quickly, as the game tracks how efficiently you solve the case. Pay attention to body language and subtle dialogue cues in the FMV sequences—they often reveal more than what’s said outright. Graphics and Sound The FMV segments might feel dated to modern players, but they have a certain charm that fits the Holmes aesthetic. The performances range from decent to genuinely engaging, and the production quality is impressive for its time. The audio, including the music and voice acting, enhances the mood without being distracting. Why It’s Still Playable Today Even though it’s an older game, the focus on deduction and logic makes it timeless. There are no modern mechanics to distract from the pure detective work. If you enjoy slower-paced, thought-provoking games, this one still delivers a compelling experience. Sure, the interface is dated, but once you adjust, it’s easy to lose yourself in the mystery. Verdict If you’re a fan of detective games or Sherlock Holmes stories, The Case of the Mummy’s Curse is a must-play. The investigation process is genuinely engaging, and solving the case feels like a real accomplishment. It’s a game that rewards patience and careful thinking, making it perfect for anyone looking for an old-school detective challenge. Highly recommended, especially if you want to revisit the golden era of FMV games!
Game is good for what it is.. However trying to keep every suspects name in your head, along with every useful contact name and profession does require a good memory or a good bit of back and forth. I cant fault it given its age. However compared with modern games its missing abit of quality of life on the interface, but that a minor issue at best. All said and done the FMVs were great, and the game was enjoyable for a short experience and will likely play the others.
Jedná se o inter.... no... spíše neinteraktivní film. Žádné sbírání předmětů a podobné kratochvíle zde nečekejte. Každá série hry se skládá ze třech případů: Volume I (remaster): The Case of the Mummy’s Curse: Máte vyřešit vraždy 3 archeologů. :)
