You're a security officer deep within Area 51. Scan the staff, verify clearances, and decide who can enter the elevator and who absolutely mustn't leave. The deeper you go, the less certain you are that anyone standing before you is still human.

Security 51 is an atmospheric security guard simulator inspired by Papers, Please, and SCP paranoia. You're on duty in the underground bunker of Area 51, where the most dangerous part begins at the elevator: the shaft descends for miles down to unknown levels. Whether it's laboratories, anomalies, inhumane experiments, or something alien—you're not supposed to know. Your task is simple: let in those who have access and stop those who don't... even if everything looks "right" on the surface.
Everyone who passes through your checkpoint carries papers and passes. Your job is to check names, positions, clearance levels, and time, ensuring the number of people entering and leaving matches, and pay attention to any oddities. As time passes you'll catch yourself thinking that something's wrong more and more, and the only thing to rely on will be the protocols. But even they can be wrong.
With experience, you'll gain increasingly more accurate methods of identity verification, such as blood testing. Did that janitor simply open the wrong door, or are they a spy for an enemy government? Or are they not even human? When in doubt, quarantine the suspect. Sometimes you'll make mistakes and lock up an ordinary employee, and sometimes you'll find a titanium cell ripped open from the inside. Some decisions will have immediate consequences, others only after several shifts.
The consequences of every mistake go far beyond issues in the workplace. Let the wrong person out, and the infection will ravage the city. Isolate suspicious employees, investigate anomalies, and launch new operations to contain the threat before it's too late.
Remember, it's not just about who you let in, but who or what you let out into the world.

it's not papers, please, but it's a pretty solid pp-like (heh). if you're looking for something difficult or particularly plot-heavy you should probably look elsewhere— although there's SOME plot, i definitely wouldn't call it story-rich, and the handful of side tasks you get do very little to balance out the fact that the game itself is piss easy when it isn't being unintentionally confusing with that said, it's got good pixel art, it's got a good aesthetic, and it doesn't try to fix what ain't broken, which i appreciate. it's a mindless SCP-inspired cross-checking game. i do have a few gripes, like the way photo anomalies are handled is really weird, and the balancing of consumables and upgrades is strange to say the least.... but it's a 10USD game, and i feel like it's got enough bang for its buck, you know?
Fun and interesting game. like papers please but with an interesting twist

This game is interesting...but in a good way. The whole concept and art style of the game is what got me on board to play it. The different levels to the story also correlating with the new items and procedures that you get through is pretty sweet! My only complaint is that sometimes the anomalies take a few day restarts to understand which can suck and hinder your overall progression. Maybe the developers need to add a better way of explaining the morning instructions and what an anomaly looks like for the more in depth procedures.
Pros/General description: - Combination of papers please and SCP with good dose of humor, which was the main reason to purchase the game when I saw it. - Nice, funny, detailed, thoughtful pixel art animations / graphics i.e. blast on the wall when peoples are getting shot behind the scene is making me smile even after seeing it dozens of times. 3 hours to beat the game first time, but apparently have some branching / different solutions / story-lines that I have not gone through yet. Cons / Feedback for authors: - Game could use some more balance - a lot of upgrades are expensive and give very minor benefits - this applies to practically all the "scan" upgrades, even after authors declared that they worked on the balance in last few updates. - Some minor Poilish translation issues - inconsistent naming of some information in instructions, and I'm not talking about
generalization of some terms, i.e. call guards for animals in Rorschach test and then providing a bear, wolf or other animals; example would be some of description in tasks instructions differing with description in manual for the continuum ripout on skin, which might be confusing on what exactly to look for.
. -- Some names of conditions for the characters in elevators brought from underground are too long in PL translation and do not fit into space where the condition is displayed. - Manual could be expanded to include explanation of mechanics that are not clear but part of requests from the special characters i.e.
punching the worm with the needle - it might not be clear how the worm in the vein looks like
. In my opinion all the introduced mechanics of the game, even if they are provided in other form i.e.
blood tests
should be included in the manual once introduced. - Some other players also complained that when replaying the game in other "branches" (after completing the first run), tutorials are reintroduced. Authors disabled those tutorials in the replays, in one of the last few updates. I think they might still be usfeul when players are returning to the game after some time, so I'd suggest to rather make an option in the settings to enable/disable tutorials.
Игра взрывает мозг под конец как сюжетом так и геймплеем.
Отличная игра. Расслабляющий геймплей без напряга. Музыка хорошая.
I played Papers, Please. And while I am only a few hours into Security 51, I don't have anything super negative to say about it, but I do have some criticisms. It's a wackier, more whimsical and casual version of its inspiration from what I'm gathering so far. The gameplay can become repetitive, but I don't necessarily think that's bad. It's far more casual and laid back. Rather than pile on more things to look at for each stage, you're looking for different things with each person. Personally I enjoyed that aspect because I was treating Papers, Please like a real job LOL. Had me stressed, so this was a nice change. There is a lack of story or greater objective outside of finding the "cure" or solution to what is happening on the outside. This part is whatever. It moves it along but frankly could be expanded on. Cool idea, but would love to see what more could be done there. Additionally, I like the isolation chamber. Gives you something else to do or pay attention to. There is also a lack of characters to engage with and doesn't have the same underlying plots driving the main game. The dialogue is recycled for each character. I may have to go further, but I would like to see some more development especially early on to keep the engagement. I can agree with other negative reviews that the game does lack in this sense. The humor is cheeky and corny at times. I like this part, because like the game play, it's very unserious. I think the core mechanics of the game are there, but in terms of worldbuilding and story, there is much to be improved upon. It feels like the game sets you up for something really interesting with references to popular cryptids and more. You believe it's going to take you somewhere, but so far it's repetitive with only a meter bar (finding the "cure") to move you along. It's up to the devs as to whether they want to build the story on what themes they have which in my opinion is SOLID... But, it can also just be a casual version of Papers, Please with cryptic wacky themes for the fun of it. It's up to them I suppose. Frankly, I've had fun so far playing it, and I intend to fully finish the game. I find it relaxing, silly, and fun. If the devs decide to expand the story or make the narrative more engaging then I'll be hooked, but if they also decide to keep it where it is at, then it'll just be a goofy time killer I'll come back to. Also for how cheap it is, I would recommend trying it out. It's very cute. Creativity/Whimsy 8/10 Gameplay 6/10 Story 2/10 Overall Fun ~5/10
