Secret Agent HD

Seeing the original on Steam was a surprise. But a remaster with a new episode, achievements and a level editor? Kinda crazy to me because I was playing this as a kid in the 90's. Now the game has a soundtrack which in my opinion makes it a bit more alive. I also like that the controls feel smoother because it runs at 60 FPS instead of 18. Don't expect a huge difference when it comes to graphics, it's still a title with pixel art. Some textures which are repeated a lot were changed to look smoother and less pixelated, I assume to make them less tiresome for the eyes. But the overall look of the original is preserved and I believe that was right thing to do. The story and gameplay loop are the same as the OG, so I decided to skip those details in this review. A very simple and fun platformer. Easy enough to be super casual, something to do as you listen to a podcast.

Wie "Crystal Caves", wenn ich auch CC bevorzugen würde. Ein Bildschirm, manchmal etwas viel hin und herlaufen. Aber ebenso liebevoll und einfach spaßig. Workshop-Inhalte mit Spieler-Leveln aus dem mitgelieferten Level-Editor sind über das Menü herunterladbar. Es gibt also haufenweise schöne Levels in beiden Spielen. Kann beide Spiele nur wärmstens empfehlen. 9/10

classic game used to play the shareware version of this back in the day are there cheats for this i know the dos version had cheats just would like to know if this version has cheats too

great remaster, comes with an additional episode and a level editor as well, with in-game access to workshop. I only played the 1st episode as a kid so majority of the game is new to me

Like Crystal Caves HD, this game is 2D puzzle platformer that is suitable for casual players. The story is lightweight at best, but it still makes more sense than the story in Crystal Caves. The focus really should be on the gameplay. Secret Agent HD has the same strengths and weaknesses as Crystal Caves HD and the games are extremely similar. The game offers some fun gameplay with a side dish of occasional frustration.
