The closest game to Chrono Trigger out there. The game is all around good. Not timing defenses can be a bit punishing sometimes but I was able to get used to it. played this before on xbox I bought it on steam just to review it. Its a fantastic game! The story so great!!!
Ending is good, story is meh/bad, development of the mc/villians in the game is lacking, gameplay is alright but relics ruin the feel of the game (Some of the relics available should really only be available post game), post game is really not so good... but the DLC is more of the same, due to the mechanics some of the combat feels... Main Game: 7/10 DLC: 7.5/10
Sea of stars has fantastic art and music, but terrible characters and story. I wish I could give this game a mixed rating instead.
Lovely game. Great soundtracks and art. I played it super casual and it was just right.
El juego base es bueno, la historia es buena, pero el DLC es horrible, tedioso y no aporta nada nuevo, además es de temática ridícula para mi punto de vista y le quita totalmente la jugabilidad al juego base. Además es bastante más dificil de superar el DLC, pero eso da igual, porque tampoco es que te recompense con algo que realmente merezca la pena. Opté por ver la historia del DLC por Youtube y listo.
En un mario y luigi pero si nintendo ya no le tuviera miedo al exito y dejara trabajar con libertar a los desarrolladores
What a huge game, so many graphics, an insane amount of work has gone into making this. There are a few minor flaws - the "lock" thing in combat could have been really interesting but instead 80% of the time there's not enough turns [or the wrong characters still have actions] to break a lock, and most of the time even when you *can* break it you're better off ignoring it and finishing off another guy with those turns. It would be better if you could see what move is coming after the lock, so you could tell whether it's one of the rare occasions where it's worth breaking it. The only time it *might have been* important in my playthrough was the final boss - I broke them quite a lot there so I can't tell if *not* breaking them would have been bad, or just the same as every other time. There's a weird thing with food items that restore mana being quite expensive, but mana restores itself when you do ordinary actions so they're also useless - the only way the food items for this would make sense is if it didn't consume a turn to use a mana-only restore item, because then they'd be useful when you need a skill to break a lock but don't have the mana for it. (Again, if locks were actually important!) As-is, if you're in that situation and use a mana item, it consumes the turn so you're too late to break the lock anyway. The late-game combat gets pretty tiresome, just the vast amount of damage you have to do to finish a boss. And then my weirdest complaint, there is too much game! It wore out its welcome. It was fun for 20 hours, but only *okay* for another 10 after that. It kept feeling like it was about to be a final boss and then bam, nope, here's another "the entire game you've played so far" again! Obviously this complaint isn't really serious, it's good value for the game to keep going, and it's not like it was just "backtrack and do things again", there was more story, more new areas, more new monsters, more quests. The unlocking of faster travel methods is reasonably paced. I didn't have to do any intentional grinding to finish the game on normal difficulty with none of the initial "make it easier" relics activated. The "relics" are a bit weird - you can buy e.g. a relic that makes it so you get experience faster, and when you buy it it's deactivated, and gets grouped in with the "it's kind of cheating to use this" relics you start the game with, so it feels like the game disapproves of you using it, but if it's cheating why did I have to buy it? Not really sure what the devs intent was with that. I went with "if I had to buy it then it's not easy-mode to use it," and I certainly wouldn't want to have been getting experience slower and thereby encouraged to do boring grinding! The puzzles are interesting enough. The "direction" of the story is linear for a long time, but does open up towards the end. The graphics are really nice, and there's *so much*. Extra bonkers that there's cutscenes with full TV-show quality animation. The music varies enough to not be annoying. Overall, better than most Final Fantasy games.
Colorful pixel art mixed with a dynamic lighting system is a combo that definitely works and makes the first impressions with this game quite stunning. RPG fans will also feel the Chrono Trigger DNA that permeates every facet of this game, helping it hook its claws into you. The combat system is probably the part I enjoyed the most: Sea of Stars quietly solves several of my gripes with JRPGs. Characters all level up together, eliminating any anxiety about falling behind. Timed hits à la Mario & Luigi keep you actively engaged through every exchange. The MP system effortlessly incentivizes using magic attacks (aka the fun ones) through a mana bar that regenerates through normal attacks. Boring melee attacks with a full mana bar are effectively a waste, so you're constantly encouraged to use your skills, avoiding any possible hoarding tendencies. The world design, unfortunately, I found pretty lackluster. Areas feel more like a themed level selection screen than a coherent world, traversal inside those levels is tedious and repetitive, peppered with puzzles so simple they feel more like interruptions than challenges. And as the hours stack up, the combat animations start cycling noticeably, which compounds the fatigue, the level "design" grinds on your patience making the whole thing a slog. The story is a fairly classic setup with a couple of twists and a decent enough lore backdrop. Serviceable, but not much more. The real problem lies in the characters: two appalling, bland, cardboard cutout protagonists, an annoying, overeager childhood friend who is treated as Jesus-on-Earth by everybody, and a few not totally forgettable extras. This nothingburger of a cast drains the life out of everything that happens around them. In a genre where characters and narrative are the whole point this can easily become a dealbreaker. Mechanically, Sea of Stars is a competent and occasionally inspired RPG. As an actual RPG, it falls frustratingly short in so many ways.

Он достаточно интересен, чтобы поддерживать желание продолжать играть. Если кратко, то главные герои - Воины Солнцестояния - Зейл и Валери состоят в клане, который сражается с Сеятельницами Кары - некие сущности, которые раскиданы по всему миру и только воины солнцестояния могут противостоять им. В процессе игры героям придется побывать в каждом уголке мира [spoiler] и не только своего родного [/spoiler], спуститься под воду, вознестись в небеса, побывать в заводном замке и сразиться с пиратами. Локации красивы и часто весьма изобретательны, дизайн врагов оригинален, хотя в процессе и встречаются рескины старых врагов - другой цвет и атаки посильнее. По локациям стоит побегать в поисках сокровищ. Частенько приходится решать загадки, чтобы пройти дальше. Загадки несложные, проблем не возникнет, но для разнообразия сойдет. Геймплей классический: максимум в отряде 6 героев, которые бегают по карте, но одновременно в битвах участвуют трое. В свой ход можно поменять активного героя на запасного, который "за кадром". Однако разрабы добавили нескоько особенностей: вы можете блокировать атаки врагов, чтобы снизить урон и набирать очки комбо (особые совместные атаки 2-3 героев), а также во время атаки, особенно магических нужно вовремя нажимать кнопки чтобы наносить больше урона или больше атак. Кроме того нужно учитывать вид урона каждого героя, чтобы не давать врагам использовать свои способности. В общем, в бою скучно не будет, нужно знать паттерны своих атак, и особенно врагов. Кроме того в игре есть рыбалка, готовка, и мини-игра типа очень сильно измененной слот-машины. Я с удовольствием прошел игру полностью и теперь прошел бесплатное (!) DLC, которое совершенно изменило правила боя для главных героев. Если игроку сложно, то есть специальные реликвии, активация которых может облегчить элементы игры или наоборот усложнить. Из недостатков: под конец бои откровенно стали надоедать, и мне показалось, что основная игра она получилась больше не про Зейла и Валери, а про их друга Гарла, у которого нет волшебных сил - он оказался очень важен для сюжета, но на мой взгляд он слишком много внимания перетянул на себя, а главные герои остались несколько в тени. DLC немного исправляет это, но ситуацию это спасает слабо. Я рекомендую эту игру, ее награды абсолютно заслужены.
