I have only played this for about 2.5 hours... And this has potential for greatness. I am a snob. I am picky. I buy and play garbage simulator games, never picking them up again. THIS is the first time I have played a game where I am objectively an awful person, and love every second. I love my little sweatshop, and genuinely look forward to all the additional content they have projected for the future. with every major update, there will be compounded multipliers of extended replayability. I am actually excited for this. Everyone else is waiting for GTA6, I am thirsting for the completion of this masterpiece in the making For now, gameplay is limited, but worth your time.

Scam Center Simulator: Prologue is a pretty messed up management game, but I think that is also the main reason I found it interesting. I am dropped into a strange town with a large debt and the only way forward is to run an underground scam operation. Instead of just sitting at a computer sending scams, I have to build up the whole operation around it. I recruit workers, keep the place running, make money and slowly expand the centre while trying to survive. It is a dark idea, but the game clearly knows how ridiculous the whole situation is. The management side is where most of my time goes. I have to recruit workers with different skills, keep them fed and under control, manage the facilities and make sure the operation has enough power. The electricity system is probably the funniest part for me because I can generate power using things like a hand crank, a bicycle generator and even a human hamster wheel. It is such an absurd way of handling a serious resource that it gives the game a strange sense of humour. I also have to think about upgrading the building and deciding how I want to spend the money I make. There are more systems underneath that basic loop too. I can take part in street hustling, run scams, trade with people and bribe the police to keep the operation going. The workers are not simply numbers either, since they have different abilities that can make them more useful for certain jobs. I like having to think about who I recruit because it makes the management side feel a little more involved than simply hiring the cheapest person available. There is also a small amount of exploration and interaction outside the centre, which helps break up the management routine. The biggest problem for me is that the prologue is still just a limited slice of the full game. I can see the bigger idea behind it, but I reach the limits of what is available fairly quickly. That makes some of the progression feel like it is preparing me for systems that I cannot fully explore yet. I also think the game can become quite busy because I am constantly dealing with workers, food, electricity, equipment and other small problems at the same time. I like management games that make me feel responsible for everything, but there are moments here where the amount of little tasks becomes more annoying than interesting. The presentation is decent for a small simulation game, although I would not say it is the main reason I am playing. The first person view makes the centre feel more physical because I can actually walk around the place and interact with things rather than managing everything from a distant menu. The strange setting also gives it some personality. At the same time, I can see where the smaller budget shows through, particularly in the environments and some of the interactions. The concept is doing a lot of the heavy lifting, but I think that is acceptable for a free prologue. I also appreciate that the prologue is free and gives me a proper look at the core idea instead of being nothing more than a tiny demo. There are Steam achievements and enough systems here for me to understand how the full management loop is supposed to work. The developers describe it as the beginning of a larger game, so I think it is important not to judge it as if it were the complete version. What I get here is more of a foundation, and while I can already see the potential, there are still plenty of areas where I would want more depth and refinement. Overall, Scam Center Simulator: Prologue is a weird management game with a surprisingly interesting foundation. I like building the scam centre, recruiting workers, managing electricity, expanding the operation and dealing with the ridiculous situations that come from the setting. The limited amount of content and the number of small management tasks hold it back, and the rougher presentation reminds me that this is still a prologue rather than a finished full game. Even so, I think the central idea is strong enough to make me curious about where it goes next. It is dark, silly and quite different from the usual management simulator, which gives it enough personality to stand out. Rating: 7.7/10
