Scaling Up

As of 2/18, there are many bugs with save games. It is really frustrating needing to wait around until things like this are fixed, but I would not personally say that the game was too early for release. That being said, I reached out to devs on their Discord, and they are extremely friendly, responsive, and working things out. I am enjoying the experience that the game provides, and I hope that the way this game is presented continues to be refined and improved upon. I feel like this game is a gem that will only continue to improve and impress. Overall, I am enjoying my experience. I wish we had snake cosmetics, but that's a silly thing that can be added after the initial growing pains.

Scaling Up surprised me because I wasn't expecting such a cozy and nice game! I had already played the demo before buying, and I love that there are so many more things to the game! There are seasons, weather, research, and really cute sneks! Did I mention that the fisher snake looks like a walrus? Honestly, peak art direction for a pixel art game, and the game feels very fluid with the way things evolve. It's really not a complicated game in itself, but there are many different ways to play. There's a guide/tutorial that you can access whenever you are in doubt about a mechanic, which is neat.

Loving the game so far with 5hrs in, made it through all the seasons and tutorial. Loving the vibe and cute little sounds. This is a casual entry game good for kids as well, though they should be good readers to learn about the snakes and their abilities. So recommend for 8 and up. Theming is wonderful, more love for snake games! Lots to unlock and explore!

Cute, fun, cozy game. You can tell the devs put a lot of heart into it. Enjoyable gameplay loop of gather resources > craft gear > gather more resources > make better gear. It took me approximately eight hours to unlock all of the expeditions in my first turn. I played on 3x speed amd didn't decorate. Now that I've unlocked different starting zones and main dragons, I'm looking forward to coming back in a few months and starting another ranch with different parameters. I encountered a minor issue (unsure if it was a bug or me not understanding a gameplay element) and the devs were very responsive in the forums.

The controls are absolutely atrocious and it's missing very basic QOL elements. Despite that, it's still fun.
