I actually like the Merchant system, it adds some depth and makes it way harder and interesting. But it bugs way too often making item pictures disappear, that really sucked.
While the first one is really great, this one creates tedium. You essentially have to solve every level twice (once to access the merchant), and then there's just tons of tedious checking to see what the win condition is as you buy items. The win condition requires you to buy and sell multiple items (sometimes all items). The concept is pretty cool, but just how it's implemented made this a chore, which was very much unlike the first game.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

bit of a letdown compared to the first game. It just has too many systems in play for only 40 levels and at least 2 of those systems are brain dead simple (upgrading guns and cleaning jewels). They add nothing to the game. Also, those last few levels just suck. Still got through most of it without having to look anything up and only got tired of it after about level 30. Took about 4 hours to beat this one and now thinking the 2-hour runtime of the first game was a good thing.
way less fun than the first. i've never played a sequel that's missed the mark more than this one. it took an extremely fun concept, stripped the fun out of it, and made it absurdly tedious.
Save Room the original is a better game, adding the shop just adds monotony and tediousness.
You know, I really liked Save Room. A fun little puzzle game based on RE4's grid inventory system, with set items and specific solutions, it was a really fun little simple game. You know what's a really quick way to make those fun little simple puzzles annoying? Add in unnecessary menuing to every single puzzle in the game, make every puzzle take substantially longer by virtue of practically having to solve them twice, have the shop be entirely irrelevant since you have a shopping list of items and you're always selling your treasures immediately anyways, and add in a voice over that sounds like a preteen child whispering their best RE4 Merchant impression that loops OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Had to drop it. I'll probably come back down the line, but it'll probably be with a guide to get the 100% achievements thing on steam as fast as possible. Just get the original Save Room, it's like this but better since you only have to do each puzzle once instead of twice.
Good and entertaining game
Having to go in and out of the shop UI slows the pace of the game down but the puzzles are still in theme
Dopamina extraña de merchant.
