Rampant and severe cheater problem, hold off on buying.
Before you buy: Wait for the full release! Game loop is good and fun, grind is rewarding ... if the game ever works properly as intended. BUT Main issues of Early Access state are (up until now): 1. Server - instable and unreliable, Devs face russian DDoS Attacks and a hype train rolling 2. Cheater - lots of them, countermeasures don't or poorly work, reports treated poorly 3. Bugs - for every server or cheater issue fix more bugs appear and old known bugs prevail 4. Matchmaking - tryhards, nolife gamers and early birds dominate -> huge skill and gear gap! 5. Long runs - as there is no "safe container", in-run merchant, etc. you loot 2h and lose all to PvP Consider EA as of now as paid playtester access, game state too rough and not recommended, yet!
I cannot for the life of me recommend this game. It has so much potential with its solo, duo, small, and large crew servers. Unfortunately, toxic players from larger crews team up inside solo and duo lobbies, leaving everyone else without a chance to fight back. Despite multiple community posts—and players not even hiding it anymore—the developers are doing nothing to fix the issue. Bug reports on Discord go completely unacknowledged, yet they claim they are fixing it with every patch. Each run is just a repeat of the last. Only buy this game if you can't play on even footing and need to abuse lobby systems to win.
I have been following and playing this game since its first playtest. It is early access so it has its bugs and currently US servers have low pop so it’s not as exciting as it was before when every server was full but this game was so peak. I had all of my friends addicted because of how much fun this game was. We are all waiting for the servers to fill back up enough for a full server.
I thought all the reviews complaining about how unbalanced this game is were just whiners. No, they're right. You start out with a garbage class trampler, so you hit some boats to get the bare minimum, lowest level trash you can farm. After 30 minutes of collecting trash and avoiding trampler smoke (other players) like your life depends on it (it does) you go to extract. Some dudes in the best armor with the best guns are camping extract. Always. They kill you multiple times so you run away. From behind you see a trampler the size of an actual 40K Land Behemoth catching up FAST. They have stuff on that trampler you didn't even know was in the game. A rail cannon blast evaporates your squadmate. You stick a fuel rod in the reactor to get a speed boost. They do the same. Repeat until you run out of fuel rods or they blow all your legs off. They will always have more fuel rods than you because they're richer. They will always have superior fire power because they're richer. They're stronger, they're faster. You die. I've played plenty of Rust and Tarkov, some of the most brutal, unforgiving games you can play. In either of those you can sneak up on someone with the best gear possible while you have the worse weapon in the game and win. I don't know how these devs are going to fix this, but this is a level of futility I don't recommended to anyone.
Дуже крива гра, багато багів, лагів, грабельно на 3\10, управляти залізним крабом цікаво на 10\10, якщо хочешь сгоріти від того що десь застряг в пвп або щось перестало працювати то заходь у гру
To simply put it, If you are thinking about buying this game do not. As a new player you are incapable of gaining any loot or xp do to the player base being max level in the tech tree. progression is to slow and 9/10 games will end with you getting obliterated by another team. and it has nothing to do with skill issues even though the game does a poor job of explaining its mechanics. its due to the tiered weapon system and tiered progression system. players who have owned the game since it came out (which is the almost everyone playing it) have the best tiered weapons and walkers, they will one shot you on foot, and destroy your walker in seconds. Now on top of the game being bad, just look up "Sands of sophie hacks" on youtube and you will see that the game is absolutely full of cheaters, with all kinds of game breaking hacks. which is kind of funny considering the progression and tiered mechanics destroy the game on their own.
I've got over 200 hours on this game. I really want to love this game. It's beautiful. You can tinker with your trampler to your hearts content. Looting is actually fun. Navigating the desert is cathartic. Fighting the AI is fun. Trampler fights can be fun. Unfortunately, fighting humans generally suck. Personal PvP is way op. Once you get boarded, you are screwed. Matchmaking sucks, the lobby's are full of maxed out players just looking to fight anyone, no matter if the fight is fun or not. Huge trampler vs newbie, sure, fun for one. No amount of skill can save you when you are out teched, out sized, out armored. Loosing is way too punishing. Unless they make better PvE and perhaps segregate the PvP to specific servers, this game will die. As much as I'd like to, I would not recommend this game at the moment.
