Reviews
I want to give this a good review, I WANT to love this game, but man, it's SO lackluster and short. It's NOT worth $30. It's honestly barely even worth like, $15. Seriously. It's that bare-bones. You basically can't interact with anything in the way that you would expect in MOST VR games. Food? Oh yeah, I can eat it, right? Nope. You can barely interact with food past just picking it up. Oh, I have a weapon: Let me try attacking the main characters to see how they react... Nothing. Even something as basic as just smacking them, I expect SOMETHING based on how interactive the old games were. The world is also really, really tiny. You literally only explore one tiny block in their main city, along with some even smaller mini-game locations. This wouldn't be an issue if there was ANYTHING to do past aimlessly walk around. You can't even run, as far as I can tell. You have to leisurely stroll. I will say, the boardwalk is very large, but sparse, so walking around it is very frustrating and boring. In the very few instances you get to work on puzzle solutions, half the time the solutions don't seem to work at first. Also: If you get any hint from a character, make SURE you pay attention, because they will NOT repeat themselves. The in-game menu hints are ridiculously vague and unhelpful, especially when you just need a simple reminder about what you're doing because you took a break. If the main character literally says "here is the solution", why can't that be what the hint is, not some vague "help Max __" How specifically??? (Also, not sure if it was just my game, but the 'blue' Shlurpee at the gas station area wasn't working at all. The red would fill the cup, blue wouldn't do anything.) I like the bones of this game, a lot, the vibe itself is really charming, but it feels incredibly... empty. Like someone else on here mentioned, it feels like a VR demo, like it's someone's first VR game they've ever worked on. It works, it functions, but it's really, REALLY boring. There's like, nothing to do basically other than listen to them talk. The original games were SORT of like that, but even their personalities seem toned down, ESPECIALLY Sam. Also you could interact with basically anything in the original games, whereas here you can barely interact with anything... Also, word of advice with minor spoilers: Do NOT take a break during the final boss battle with the Aquabear, when Max is a giant and you're doing the cuckoo clock, safe and ship wheel puzzles. I did that and came back, and I was floating so high up in the air that I couldn't interact with anything. I was basically softlocked. I had to redo the entire last stage, excessive climbing and all. If there's ever a major content update to this game (which I sadly have a feeling there never will be), I'll gladly re-review and update this with my thoughts.

i want a 10 hour story freeroam now as a 5$ dlc now like fallout
Очень ламповая игра. Если вы фанат серии, то вам понравится
(Played on htc vive) Game is nearly unplayable due to bugs and control scheme The controls are unbelievably sensitive and could have been improved with just 4 seconds of consideration Game-breaking bugs on nearly every story level Really cheap game overall and an insult to the Sam & Max franchise. 3/10 still has good writing though
no french subtitle :(
I LOVE THIS GAME, is what i would have typed if i stopped playing after 10 mins. sadly its a mishmash of old mechanics wrapped in a poorly optimised Sam and Max skin. i started out grinning as i stand next to the loved characters of my childhood but once i tried to play the game it was all down hill. the Bop it bombs frequently broke causing frustration, falling through the world, max getting stuck in animations so i was unable to progress the list goes on. this is a £5 game at best and that's if you are a die hard Sam and Max fan otherwise, avoid
Frequent bugs ruin the experience and result in having to restart scenes multiple times to try and avoid silly things like objects vanishing from existence, bad physics making it impossible to complete tasks and queued events not triggering leaving the player hanging unsure what to do. Shame really, was looking forward to this one.
I'm overall enjoying this experience, seeing Sam and Max up close, being in their world, just blows my mind! I recommend this to all Sam and Max fans!
As a Sam & Max addict, I knew I had to play this game. I played it on Occulus and loved it, but I only recently got to play it on Steam. I'll admit it plays a bit better on Occulus, but I still enjoy the game overall - the visuals, music, and voice acting are on point as usual, getting to interact with Sam & Max's world is great, and the minigames are pretty fun... though I have a bit of a skill issue with some of them (ESPECIALLY Fizzball)
