A friend recommended this game to me, glad he did! (and convinced me to install Steam). It is very unique and full of creative ideas! Also plays great and has a clever end-game. Just the beginning is a bit slow, the game and levels get (even) better and more complex in the second half of the game. Animation is a bit stiff but guess this is due to the stained glass nature of the game. Really great game overall!!
Beautiful art direction. The gameplay itself is well made and metroidvania elements, though minor, are well implemented.
Yet another game where visuals try to carry the day, but as brilliant as they are, they cannot compensate for all the gameplay weaknesses. Saga of Sins is mostly a platforming action game with a very light upgrade system, thematically organized around the seven sins. The stained glass style visuals are amazing, and the animations mostly fit the middle ages theme, but the combat gameplay gets repetitive quickly, with the addition of new characters only briefly livening up the experience. I liked the idea of the fourth character though, but then again, the designers only touched the surface of the gameplay opportunities he provides. At a significant discount, it's not hard to recommend this game - most probably I wouldn't pay the full 15 EURs for it, though.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Saga of Sins is weird. A game with mediocre gameplay and strange mechanics, however the setting, atmosphere, and personality do the heavy lifting to deliver an interesting experience. The story is basically about bro Cecil (MC) coming back from the crusades only to find that his village is being ravaged by a plague. When talking with his "mentor" at the chapel, his mentor tells him that in order to get rid of the plague, he has to enter the head of the sinners and get rid of the sins. It's strange, but each villager's head is a level, and they commit different sins, so it's entertaining. I also love Cecil's voiceover, his accent and how he develops and questions his faith through the game are super credible. The biggest strength is its sense of style. Everything is glass stained, the village is completely decrepit, and the enemies are biblical entities. I also love how each sin has its own visual style and mechanics in the levels, like "greed" spawning coins that detract from your counter or rage being enemy-infested and harder than other levels, for example. Some boss fights are very fun too, like not all just kill stuff, some are puzzles or platforming challenges. It's creative enough. The soundtrack is great and really excels at portraying a dark ages vibe, especially the boss's tracks. The gameplay is very, and I mean VERY generic, it's almost like (a sin) a flying ship game in the form of an action platformer. I can't even describe it properly. You just shoot forward, and the enemies get hit. That's it, no proper animations, no physics, no blocks, no melee, there is a dash but that's it, combat is completely shallow and barebones, and even the upgrades are boring. Gameplay suffers a lot in Saga of Sins. Also, the backtrack to get to the true ending… Come on, respect our time. If your gameplay already is not that good, replaying all the levels again isn't going to help and feels like a frustrating way to artificially extend the game's time. In the end, I think it could've been a great game, but it's just "eh." The gameplay is really lacking and dramatically plagues the experience, but everything else is fire and original. It is clear that the dev cares a lot about the game, the visuals, voice acting, and soundtrack are special, and some aspects are very well crafted. I recommend it only slightly, and only if you're greedy enough.
