Developed and published by WGameDevStudios, ROCK - PAPER - DEATH is a clever indie horror title that transforms one of the world's most recognizable hand games into a nerve-racking contest where every decision carries serious consequences. Instead of relying on complex mechanics or lengthy tutorials, the game immediately throws players into a grim scenario where each round of rock-paper-scissors determines their survival. The objective appears simple at first: win matches to collect valuable chips and decide whether to walk away with your earnings or continue gambling for greater rewards. However, the game quickly reveals that greed is just as dangerous as bad luck, creating an experience driven by psychological tension rather than traditional action or combat. The core gameplay succeeds because it constantly forces players to question their own judgment. Every defeat results in the loss of a finger, and repeated injuries gradually push the player closer to death through blood loss. This mechanic transforms an innocent childhood game into a suspenseful survival challenge where every round feels meaningful. The temptation to continue playing for larger payouts becomes increasingly difficult to resist, especially after a series of victories. While the rules remain incredibly easy to understand, the emotional pressure steadily intensifies as the consequences become more severe. The balance between risk and reward serves as the foundation of the experience, making players responsible for every success and every disastrous mistake. Adding to the atmosphere is the mysterious House, an unseen force that watches every action and reacts to the player's choices. Rather than acting as a simple narrator, this presence gives the game an unsettling personality that constantly reminds players they are trapped inside a cruel contest with no guaranteed happy ending. The game's story is intentionally minimal, but it effectively explores themes of greed, obsession, and self-destruction through gameplay rather than lengthy dialogue. The realization that there is never a completely safe decision reinforces the horror, making every victory feel temporary and every loss increasingly devastating. Although ROCK - PAPER - DEATH is built around a straightforward concept, it includes enough replay value to encourage multiple sessions. Endless Double Down mode allows players to test their luck for as long as possible, while unlockable cosmetic rewards and Steam achievements provide additional incentives to keep returning. The randomized outcomes ensure that every run unfolds differently, and because each session depends heavily on the player's willingness to push their luck, the game creates memorable stories despite its limited mechanics. Players looking for deep progression systems or extensive content may find the experience relatively brief, but those who appreciate focused indie horror concepts will likely enjoy its efficient design. The presentation complements the gameplay with dark visuals, unsettling sound design, and a consistently oppressive atmosphere. Graphic injuries, blood effects, and disturbing imagery reinforce the feeling that every mistake has permanent consequences without overwhelming the experience with excessive gore. Instead, the horror comes from anticipation, uncertainty, and the constant fear of making one decision too many. The minimalist approach works surprisingly well, allowing the atmosphere to remain tense throughout each play session while emphasizing the game's central message about knowing when to stop. ROCK - PAPER - DEATH proves that even the simplest ideas can become compelling horror experiences when supported by strong atmosphere and meaningful consequences. Its creative interpretation of rock-paper-scissors, combined with its focus on psychological pressure and risk management, gives the game a distinct identity among indie horror releases. While it may not satisfy players searching for a lengthy adventure or complex mechanics, it excels at delivering a concentrated experience that remains memorable long after the final round. It is an inventive blend of horror and chance that rewards careful decision-making while constantly tempting players to make one last dangerous gamble. Rating: 6/10

Fun little indie game created by a solo game dev, after an hour of playtime I do recommend this game if you're a fan of these sorts of games that can go on forever, the rock paper scissors games are purely based on luck but it's still engaging when you really wanna beat your high score, and frustrating when you gain £1,300 in one game then throw it all away cause you really want to get a higher score (definitely not speaking from experience), but when you lose it makes you want to play again to try and beat your previous score. I recommend!
- They're something about this game that almost has a charm to it that makes me want to play further. I really like this small little indie game! Yes, it's fairly simple and it's the "craziest" thing in the world. But it's charming and is pretty fun I'm not gonna lie! - Maybe some people may not think the 2 dollar price may not be worth it. But I feel it is mainly cause you're helping out a small developer grow! - Overall, fun simple game made by one of my favorite Youtubers! I've encountered some bugs where I got softlocked due to UI overlapping or sometimes the UI just not working at all (I really don't mind these as I had kind of expected this when beginning the game). - 100% Recommend if you wanna just sit back and enjoy a twisted game of Rock, Paper, Scissors
This game is super addictive and fun when you don't know what else to play. The game is obviously luck based as there are only three options each player can choose but at some points you feel as though you have a strategy to win (they quickly stop working after a few rounds, which does make it fun) I did come across a few bugs when first playing but most of them have been patched already, although that is something that you might expect for a small indie game like this. It does get a bit repetitive and frustrating after a while but that might just be because I basically played rock paper scissors for 4 hours straight I have really enjoyed this game so far tho and recommend it for people that want a small addictive game that is easily able to go back to
