This is a great game! Even though the game itself is old, like over ten years old, the riding style from both jumping and dressage horses comes from real-life training and experiences. I don't find many horse games with this level of experience, and the sunset graphics are very beautiful. Like every dressage or jumping rider in the real world, it does take time to get used to the dressage moves or the jumping course, and it's not handed to you so easily, and I like that! I enjoy the game even though it's older and it runs well on my laptop
I don't care what anyone says, this game is super good for a free game! Show Jumping is so incredibly fun but also challenging, still haven't beaten that one. Would play again.
I really loved this game when I first played it on the PS2. Then got it on PC eventually. Now most people in the reviews all say the controls in this game are unplayable...the controls are exceedingly challenging, but that makes this game so satisfying when you beat the game. I have beaten this game several times, with all gold metals in every competition. I loved how the game does NOT hold your hand and helps you along to let you beat the game, it makes you work for it, just like all the games of the past where they were actually challenging, and you had to figure everything out yourself instead of relying on the game to give you hints or tips, or have a neatly packaged wiki page that is 100% fool proof. This game is one I always come back to play when I need a challenge. I strongly recommend this game. I played it on my PS2 till the game disk died. Its a challenging game, but one that is satisfying to the end due to the game not holding your hand, so your success is all on you and to me that makes this game worth it!
Nice basic horse riding sim that I keep coming back to when I want to just mess around without booting up red dead 2 lol Its a DS port so if you're like me and have fond memories of playing random pirated horse games on a TT card then this is right up your alley Pros: Controls using mouse, space, and wasd Several camera modes incl 3rd person, 1st person behind horse head, and 1st person as the horse Free roam is actually free (just a big field but nothing is "on rails") Competitions are actually difficult at the higher levels Sort of con: Dressage is on rails and you can only do dressage moves within these linear segments But The dressage comps are actually kinda intense and were the last things for me to get top scores in Main con for me is that I wish you didn't have to clean your horse so much You can train as much as you want but horse must be pristine to be able to compete and when you're doing multiple attempts trying to get top scores it gets annoying having to spend 10-15 mins cleaning the horse top to toe and picking out ALL FOUR HOOVES every time, especially when comps become multiple tests in a row I havent been able to find any mods to fix this so if anyone ever manages to do that then this game is easily a 10/10 for what it is, definitely recommended for all ages
The 3D is from another age. It's really ridiculous.
it's half/half for me. Originally, I was looking for the original Mary King's Riding Star and unfortunately this is not what I was looking for. I don't mind it in a way either but it isn't something that I have been able to enjoy unfortunately.
have enjoyed the game, but confused to why when i win tournaments it wont let me go into the next trained level but other then that pretty good game
its a good horse game
