We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

From start to finish I was confused however towards act 2 a semblance of a narrative constructed itself. However after the credits rolled I still felt very confused.. As endings go, this game provided me with very little narrative structure. I know that there might be a secret ending somewhere or a semblance of an act 3 however, I find myself asking more questions than answers. After starting from scratch twice I am happy to say I wont be tempted to hit a secret ending. A game should be feel as though you are building to an ending, not getting your build ruined each act. Honestly, this whole thing could have been compressed to a 2 hour game. And its best mechanics are overshadowed (mostly white) by the characters confusion. I shouldn't be more confused at hour 12 than I am at hour 3 and for that reason I am providing this game with a 0/10... ?Like? : - why am I getting shop items I cant buy twice? - why is there is a limit to Max HP? - Malfunctions are a cool mechanic, if breaking them didn't suck so hard. An enemy blasted me and I got 2 by homing missiles? Level design wise: I love the platforming and the rewards for curiosity. The level of detail is so good and the fluid movement of character jumps and platforming is amazing. I hated levels that: Would put me in bonus rooms where I lacked the mechanics unlocked to complete them. (I died twice to this) They put me in a bonus room with a hole that looked like I could clear it, so I died trying to do it. I just wish the narrative was better.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Fantastic game - can recommend! The difficulty feels soulcrushingly hard across the first hours, but you have to stay committed and push through. It's worth it. The reward is an awesome story, and a gameplay loop that keeps you motivated and engaged. "Just one more room, one more weapon upgrade, one more round..." Feels a bit like Dark Souls or Elden Ring, just with a Sci-Fi setting and a more ranged weapon based gameplay.
Awesome visuals, weapons feel great, and the persistent progression system is well integrated.
I say this as someone who bought the game on Playstation and loved the gameplay just wished I could play with a mouse and keyboard and now that I finally have the chance to do that... the game will not leave the startup screen because it is so poorly optimized. There is no reason that this game should not be running at a steady 60 fps without issue on my PC, instead I have been unable to even try playing the game. I may try modding it to see if it fixes the issue but I shouldn't have to rely on outside help to play the game I BOUGHT. If you want to play Returnal the only way I can reccomend it is if you want to play it on Playstation
very good TPS bullet hell, probably too expensive at full price but worth a try !
