This is a great emulator if you want to play some old games from the late 2010 and older that you "legally" acquired. The settings can be confusing at times but once you get a hang on it you never need an amulator thet is a part of it's cores. Truly a one stop destination for retro games.
no ps2 core in this version?? too much menu for a meter squared i can`t even get it through the online updater as it is simply not present

The real killer is that the menus for binding controls don't talk to each-other. I tried binding IJKL to the Playstation buttons and K still paused the emulator because the controller keybinding menu doesn't interact with whatever menu sets Retroarch's controls. That's one of the other major problems with Retroarch, menus inside menus inside menus inside menus parallel to menus. It's a pain to navigate. Not exactly hard, but extremely annoying.
Best Multi-emulator, no open emu on windows sadly. So this is the best alternative.
