An on-the-rails game about using a variety of guns in a shooting range against paper targets. Seems like something you'd play in an arcade. As such, you don't get to choose the gun you use or where you move around, it's chosen by whatever scripted level you're playing. Level types are Pistol, Shotgun, Full Auto Rifle, and Sniper Rifle. A mixture of shooting moving targets and static targets at varying ranges. If memory serves, there are 21 levels, and 2-5 bonus levels. Levels have varying length from 2 minutes - 7 or 8ish. The tutorial tells you MOST of the controls but not all, which can be detrimental for the Sniping mission where using a scope is imperative. -The game is alright - it's a shooting range so it's not a very exciting environment. -Additionally, the game's reliance on clicking a lot kept making my hands hurt (is this game giving me Carpal Tunnel?) and as such I can only stand to do one or two levels at a time before needing to stop playing. Overall, an okay on-the-rails game, but your hands are gonna feel the punishment. Took me about 4 hours to 100% all Steam Achievements
If you enjoy simple arcade shooter games and rail shooters, you might enjoy this. That's basically all you do in various settings and it's pretty well done overall. The bad: it's kinda old and got a big indie vibe so the controls are clunky, can't be changed and you'll have to fiddle to get a useable resolution and, most of all, a proper mouse speed. By default the mouse is insanely fast and the in game adjustment don't seem to do anything. It's fine if you're like me and prefer twitch shooting but it's at the upper limit of what's manageable. You can edit the speed through windows of if you have a button on your mouse but it's a bit of a hassle to me. The good: the game is stable ; you get about 2h of gameplay for the career mode ; the sound effects, rock music and voices are good and you get a nice variety of guns and settings. It must be pretty cool with a wireless gun and would be even better in VR (which this one can't do afaik). Regarding the content, there is a score based multiplayer mode where each player complete the same level after each other. You can create several profiles for different players. The content is fully unlocked after completing the carreer, which is fine except that the last missions are tideous because they require precision and speed which is hard because of the controls (I play keyboard+mouse). Once you get it done, you can replay all missions. There are in game and steam achievements that are pretty straightforward and give a reason to replay at least some of the missions. This is a very simple and straightforward product but really fun if you enjoy this kind of game, well worth it on sale (full price only if you can make it work with some ray gun or wii mote or whatever on a big screen).
Description
Reload is a first-person on-rails shooter game that features 27 levels. Players are challenged to score as high as possible and earn a platinum medal for each level.
Review
Reload is a decent game. However, the controls and overall gameplay can feel janky and unrefined at times. The 27 levels offer a good amount of content, but the repetitive nature of the on-rails shooter genre may not appeal to everyone. The game's graphics and sound effects are adequate, but nothing particularly stands out. I only recommend this game to achievement hunters.
Achievements
Earning all the achievements in Reload will take around 5.2 hours of gameplay. I recommended completing all the levels and earn all rewards before attempting to get the platinum medals, as this will make it easier to achieve high scores.
Linux
I played it on Fedora Kinoite using Proton 7.0.6 and I faced no issues.
If you love shooting numerous types of weapons, at several alternating targets, you will instantly love this game. What a blast of fun! Great job Developers. Recommend to all...
I RELOAD A GUN YAY WORTH YOUR CASH only if its $1 :)
B grade game with a lot of compatibility problems on Win10+ systems and no developer support. Dont be suprised if you have to ask for a refund. And no custom keybinds and plenty of glitches. If it ran reliably it would be OK at best,
