Regency Solitaire II

Love all the solitaire games from Grey Alien Games. Super chill times.

This game and the first one are worth your time even if the theme doesn't appeal to you. Very satisfying and addictive solitaire.

I enjoyed the original Regency Solitaire and played through the game multiple times. The sequel has been a blast as well. It improves upon everything the original had to offer. I love Grey Alien Games! If you enjoy their other titles as much as I have then I highly recommend you check this one out!

A nice, relaxing solitaire game.

Make the ugliest garden ever

As someone who played Regency Solitaire 1 and 100%ed it, I can confidently say that after doing the same for Regency Solitaire 2, I think it is an improvement on the original, and I can recommend it easily. The gameplay is simple: take cards off the board by having them either have one value above or below the card in your discard pile. The trick to it all is to combo your card stacks as much as possible. This is best facilitated by the proper planning and some of the abilities that you unlock. Those abilities are really what set this one above the first game in the series; there are more of them, they are generally better, and they have a decent number of upgrades for each one as well. Regency Solitaire 2 is a simple game that I found to be extremely fun, especially when I was able to perfectly solve the card puzzles. What can I say? It tickles my autistic brain. Even though I don’t have a ton to say about the gameplay, I would say that if you are a fan of puzzles and/or card games, this is a must-play in my opinion. As far as the story goes, it is not my thing, and I mostly ignored it. I think that somebody like my mother, who is a fan of Jane Austin’s works, probably would like something like this. As for me, I really just played it for the gameplay. I am sure another review could give you a better look into the story if something akin to Jane Austin’s works appeals to you, but if you are more like me, then I will say that the story is easy to skip and is well worth dealing with for the gameplay. The sound design is fine. It really isn’t my kind of music, and the simple card and ability feedback sounds are fine, but I really don’t have a ton to say about it all. It is serviceable, but I chose to turn on my own music in the end. Artistically, I think this game is pretty great looking. Of course, it is not like a masterpiece or anything; this game is purely cards, cutscenes, and backgrounds, but the style and art feel cohesive and detailed. It has a bit of that mobile game feel in its style, but honestly, I don’t care. I think that the detailing in the characters and backgrounds creates an experience very fitting for a card game. As for the animations and abilities, they look great and are smooth, so they fit into the game well. Overall, I like how the game looks, even if it is not necessarily the most unique or impressive. All in all, I was a fan of the first Regency Solitaire, and I am now a fan of the sequel. I wrote a lot more in that review, and many of those opinions transfer over to this review as well, so feel free to check that out, but this review is shorter partially because I have so little to complain about and feel that my thoughts are really concise. They are both just really fun card games, and for the price you pay, I think that it is a steal. I put 11 hours into this game, and that is partially because I put another 20+ in the last one and got quite good at it all. So, if you are new to this all you could probably get at least 15 or so hours in the game. Maybe I am weird, but to me, this is peak as far as card games go.

After playing Forbidden Solitaire, I wanted more. So I got this and I gotta say that it is fantastic. Grey Alien Games knows how to make these and I am hooked. I hope we get more of these! The gameplay is fun and the powerups and style of play makes it way more dynamic than standard solitaire. Definitely pick this up if you want more of that great Forbidden Solitaire gameplay.
