very Nice, cant fully figure out the first level, but i love the style and gameplay
"Recoil Control: The Adventures of Rico Ché" is a rather unusual and unconventional FPS experience, for starters it doesn't look like a run of the mill Unreal asset flip, so there's that. There's a simple story about a sharpshooter named Rico investigating a mystery at a gun shop. Navigates a foggy urban environment, solve puzzles, and fight quirky enemies with a variety of weapons. There's a little focus on "Realism", which might have been served better if that realism focus extended to the graphics... the low poly look isn't "art", it's lazy. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Hobbe's Gun Shop'un gizemini çözebilir misiniz?
Pretty Fun demo, excited for the rest of the game.
Recoil Control: The Adventures of Rico Ché is an independent first-person shooter that attempts to distinguish itself through a combination of firearm mechanics, exploration, environmental puzzles, physics, and deliberately eccentric humor. Developed and published by Eggcentrik Studios LLC, the game introduces players to Rico Ché, an aspiring sharpshooter who becomes involved in the mysteries surrounding Hobbe’s Gun Shop. Instead of presenting a conventional military campaign or an enormous open world, the experience concentrates on a smaller urban environment filled with unusual characters, suspicious locations, weapons, and secrets. The free release functions as the opening chapter of Rico’s adventure, establishing the mechanics and setting while leaving room for additional chapters to expand the story. Rico’s investigation takes place around Hobbe’s Gun Shop, an establishment with a reputation for serving everyone from inexperienced shooters to skilled marksmen. However, rumors suggest that the business may be more than an ordinary firearms shop. It is supposedly connected to a secretive training operation, giving Rico a reason to investigate the surrounding property. This simple premise works well for the scale of the game because it gives exploration a clear purpose. Entering restricted areas, examining suspicious structures, finding useful objects, and figuring out how to overcome environmental obstacles become important parts of progression. The setting is especially effective at creating an unusual atmosphere. Much of the action revolves around a fog-covered parking lot and the surrounding urban scenery. The outside world remains visible through pedestrians, traffic, fences, streets, and other details that make the location feel like part of a larger city. At the same time, the nighttime presentation and heavy fog create a slightly unsettling quality. This atmosphere contrasts nicely with the low-poly graphics and cartoon-like characters. The game never seems interested in being completely serious, yet its environment can still produce genuine curiosity about what is hidden behind a gate or inside an inaccessible area. Combat naturally receives considerable attention, and the title accurately reflects the emphasis on learning how firearms behave. Shooting is not designed purely around effortless point-and-click action. Bullet drop is incorporated into the gunplay, requiring players to pay greater attention to accuracy and weapon behavior. This more technical element creates an amusing contrast with the exaggerated visual style. Rico may inhabit a cartoonish world populated by strange personalities, but handling a firearm still requires some consideration. Multiple weapons and customization possibilities provide additional flexibility and reinforce Rico’s identity as someone trying to become a capable sharpshooter. Firearms are not the only means of dealing with trouble. Rico can participate in fistfights and use items such as knives, rocks, grenades, and other available weapons. Physics contribute significantly to the entertainment value of these encounters. Enemies can stumble after taking hits and eventually collapse with ragdoll behavior, making fights feel reactive despite the relatively simple presentation. Gunfire can produce blood effects and impact marks, while explosions provide another aggressive option. The violence is noticeable but avoids extreme gore or dismemberment. Rico can also restore health with a syringe, giving players a practical recovery method during difficult confrontations. The characters occupying the area around Hobbe’s Gun Shop give the game much of its personality. Players encounter ordinary citizens alongside security personnel, Gunslingers, Sharpshooters, and other individuals who may be considerably more dangerous. Dialogue and exaggerated personalities help these characters feel like inhabitants of the location instead of interchangeable targets. More interestingly, encounters do not always have to begin with immediate violence. Some people may remain relatively passive unless Rico provokes them, so reckless actions can transform a manageable situation into a dangerous fight. Stronger opponents can punish careless behavior, encouraging players to pay attention before attacking. Exploration provides an important counterbalance to combat. Locations such as the Derelict Gate demonstrate that apparently inaccessible areas may hide useful discoveries or further mysteries. Progress can involve finding objects, examining the environment, and determining how different elements of the setting fit together. Environmental puzzles give the adventure a more deliberate pace and prevent the experience from becoming nothing more than consecutive firefights. The relatively compact map benefits from this approach because players are encouraged to learn the environment rather than simply sprint through it. The combination of shooting and puzzle solving gives Recoil Control its most appealing identity. Its design contains elements associated with old-school FPS games, survival experiences, physics-driven action, comedy, and adventure. The progression remains relatively focused, but secrets and interactive environmental elements create additional reasons to investigate. Players who enjoy searching smaller maps for hidden routes or solutions will probably appreciate this structure more than those expecting nonstop combat. The game rewards curiosity, which is appropriate for a story built around investigating a suspicious establishment. Visually, the low-poly direction is a sensible choice. Rather than competing for realism, Eggcentrik Studios LLC embraces simplified character models and environments that complement the unusual tone. Fog and nighttime lighting add atmosphere, while exaggerated characters keep the experience from becoming excessively grim. This contrast is one of the game's most memorable qualities. Realistic concepts such as bullet behavior coexist with cartoonish figures, ragdoll reactions, unusual dialogue, and comedic situations. The result has considerably more personality than a visually realistic but mechanically generic shooter might have achieved. Its greatest limitation is currently its scale. The free game represents the first playable chapter, so it should be viewed as an introduction rather than an enormous standalone campaign. The concentration on Hobbe’s Gun Shop and its immediate surroundings naturally restricts environmental variety, while the narrative establishes mysteries that are intended to continue beyond this initial installment. Players expecting dozens of locations, an extensive arsenal, or a lengthy progression system may therefore find the experience modest. However, the smaller scope also allows its central mechanics and atmosphere to remain focused. As an introduction, Recoil Control: The Adventures of Rico Ché offers an appealing mixture of gunplay, physics, humor, puzzles, exploration, and mystery. Eggcentrik Studios LLC, as both developer and publisher, has given the project a distinctive personality instead of producing another straightforward independent FPS. Its firearm mechanics provide substance, environmental challenges reward observation, and its strange cast makes the setting memorable. Future chapters have considerable potential to broaden the locations, weapons, enemies, puzzles, and narrative established here. While the current chapter is comparatively compact, it successfully demonstrates an entertaining concept with enough individuality to make Rico’s continuing adventures worth watching. Rating: 7/10
