Reality Rash is a 3D beat 'em up game with huge potential, but the game wastes that potential by being one of the most boring and disappointing game experiences ever. Let me say this first: Reality Rash is not horrible. It is just so bland and generic that you are probably going to forget you ever played it after a week. The story and the premise of the game are really cool. Four different realities collide, and you have to defeat each reality's boss to recover a core. After collecting all the cores, you can restore your reality. First, let's talk about the game's visual style, or lack thereof. The game is an eyesore. Both the enemies and player characters look like unfinished placeholder models. Especially the lighting in the Wild West stages is a mess. Some of the shadows are pitch black, and it is hard to see anything. The soundtrack is pretty underwhelming. The combat is really janky and not satisfying at all. Jessy and Fred have different combos. The button combinations are the same, but the moves change depending on the character. Jessy prefers using her kicks more, while Fred uses his fists. If you hold the attack button, you can launch your enemy into the air. It works most of the time, but sometimes, even though I was standing next to the enemy, my launcher attack went right through them. This happened on some occasions, and it was frustrating. Using firearms can be quite frustrating. Most of the time, the bullets hit the target and deal damage, but sometimes the bullets disappear right before hitting the enemy and the enemy takes no damage. It looks like the bullet hit them, but the enemy just stands there like nothing happened. There is a level in the medieval stage where you climb a staircase and come to a locked door. There are four enemies, and you have to defeat all of them to progress. One time, one of the enemies disappeared when he stepped onto the stairs, and I had to restart the level. In one of the cyberpunk stages, my character got stuck between two objects in the middle of a fight. I waited for the enemies to kill me and hoped the game would spawn me in a different position, but the game respawned me in the exact same spot. I managed to get out by using my special move. You have a special move that you can perform when you fill your bar. Don't expect anything impressive just because it is called a special move. You have to stand very close to the enemy to use it, and it is pretty underwhelming. You can't damage enemies while they are idle, by the way. You can attack them, but they do not react at all. You have to wait for them get into the combat position, then you can be able to damage them. I can talk about the problematic stuff in this game all day, because the issues just keep piling up. Boss fights are somewhat fun. The second boss is unbelievably easy. Just kite him into a corner and spam the attack button. There is an achievement in the game that requires you to beat a boss without getting hit. I got that achievement easily thanks to that boss. The last boss is pure cancer, though. He was not fun to fight against at all. I think the biggest crime in this game is the voice acting. Fred and Beto are not that bad, but dear God, Jessy's voice is an assault on your ears. Without subtitles, it is impossible to understand what she is saying. She just mumbles and says everything with a weird accent. I realize that this is an indie game and not every developer has the budget to hire professional voice actors, but this game would honestly be better without that god-awful voice acting. Overall, Reality Rash is a disappointing mess of a game that lures you in with an interesting concept, but as soon as you start playing, you begin to feel buyer's remorse

This is likely the best beat em up i have played in awhile, The combat system is a lot like tekken, The A.i are not idiots & they will try to whoop dat A#s every chance they get lol, Being who i am, I'm not accepting a beat down by some sky-net wannabe, So with practice i flipped the script real fast, The combos are fun & require proper execution, Especially when getting attacked in groups, The parry & block system is a breath of fresh air for a beat em up of this style, The weapons can be a pain, Sometimes, All you need to throw is hands, Weapons can help, But its definitely depends on the overall situation, I mean can you get to the weapon without being shot or stabbed ? most likely not, the a.i is here to hit you in your mouth & make you rage, With that said, There are collectibles & secret locations to discover, At any time you can back track to make sure you didn't skip anything, The story is optional, It has great execution & the levels feel alive, The art, graphics are on point, the characters are fun, My only criticism is because of the lock on feature needs to be polished and modified to work more efficiently and accurately, with that said, This is a great game for beat em up & fighting game fans.
A good 3d game, worth the buy!

It's a fun game, with good graffics and music.
I was excited about a new beat 'em up, but what an incredibly strange game! The enemies just keep beating you up, and you barely get a chance to attack them. Why don't the characters jump straight even when I'm pushing the stick left or right? I always jump at a slight angle. On top of that, I've set the game to 60 fps and the graphics to low, and I'm still getting micro-stuttering. I absolutely cannot recommend this game, and it's too expensive even if it were free.
