Purgatory Dungeoneer

Purgatory Dungeoneer is an overwhelming JRPG, and I mean that as a compliment. There’s so much here that it can be hard to tell where to even begin, but when you do it’s totally worth your time!

A deep, singular, rewarding experience with a soundtrack that slaps to a frankly irresponsible degree.

It's so intriguing. The concept around a home for adventurers, and helping them work through things and remember parts of their past lives is something I haven't seen before. I feel like the minimalist style is a good choice for something like this. The game doesn't hold your hand too much and lets you figure things out on your own which is a nice bonus. It takes place in a strange and unique world where the common fantasy races don't exist (there are a couple like gnoll but not a lot) and the variety of jobs/classes is enormous. Also big bonus for being able to have a slime in my party!

this is the game of all time

This is a very in depth turn based battle game with all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cut out. You fight, you win, you get a debuff to make it harder and you go until you win the floor or die. The debuffs get into some silly ♥♥♥♥, ie: -50% str while 1 enemy remains. Not hard enough? Set a harder difficulty. If you like OG final fantasy / dragon quest, give this a try.
