Psi Project is a hardcore 2D shooter with elements of horror. The main character wakes up in an unknown place. Absolutely remembers nothing. Who he is and how he got here. Throughout search of answers he is strongly plagued by different kinds of hallucinations.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's sad writting a bad review about a game with a good potential. As the others said this has a lot of stolen sprites and sounds which are used in this games. But which game isn't stolen illegaly nowadays? Think about that for example MapleStory's sprites and artwork etc. is almost used EVERYWHERE. It's really saddening. How is this even allowed? I dont know. All i all it's not a bad game but its poorly made. 11 levels playtime around 40 minutes. I wouldn't bought it without a sale for 25 cents. Just dont buy it.
Psi Project is a stark and abrasive 2D action shooter that blends retro design sensibilities with psychological horror elements, aiming to unsettle players as much as it challenges them. Developed by Vyacheslav Shilikhin and published by Conglomerate 5, the game presents itself as a deliberately harsh experience, one that prioritizes atmosphere and tension over accessibility or comfort. From the opening moments, it becomes clear that Psi Project is not interested in guiding the player gently into its world, instead dropping them into a hostile environment defined by confusion, isolation, and constant threat. The narrative foundation is intentionally fragmented and opaque. The protagonist awakens with no memory, trapped in an unfamiliar space filled with distorted imagery and hostile presences that may or may not be real. Rather than explaining its premise through direct exposition, the game relies on environmental cues, brief text elements, and unsettling visual shifts to suggest themes of hallucination, psychological collapse, and identity loss. This approach creates an eerie sense of disorientation that fits the horror angle, but it also means the story never fully solidifies into a coherent arc. For players willing to interpret symbolism and embrace ambiguity, the narrative can feel unsettling and suggestive; for others, it risks feeling underdeveloped and emotionally distant. Gameplay is rooted in classic 2D shooter structure, drawing inspiration from early action and survival horror titles. Progression is linear, with players navigating enclosed areas, collecting keys, managing limited resources, and fighting off enemies that appear in waves or ambushes. Combat emphasizes constant movement and awareness, but mechanically it remains quite basic, offering little variation beyond aiming, shooting, and avoiding damage. Enemy behavior is simple, and encounters tend to blur together over time, as the game rarely introduces new mechanics or meaningful twists to evolve its combat loop. The difficulty curve is unforgiving, sometimes to a fault. Psi Project leans heavily into a “hardcore” identity, but this challenge often stems more from rough design and limited feedback than from carefully balanced encounters. Controls can feel stiff, hit detection inconsistent, and deaths abrupt, which can turn tension into frustration rather than fear. Because the core systems are not especially refined, the game’s difficulty sometimes feels accidental rather than intentional, undermining the sense of mastery that challenging shooters typically aim to provide. Visually, the game adopts a minimalist pixel-art style with dark palettes and sparse environmental detail. This aesthetic reinforces the bleak tone and sense of abandonment, but it also limits the impact of the horror elements. Environments tend to feel repetitive, and the lack of visual variety makes it difficult for locations to leave a strong impression. Sound design plays a crucial role in compensating for this, using ambient noise and minimalistic audio cues to create unease, though the overall presentation remains subdued rather than overtly frightening. Atmosphere is where Psi Project shows its clearest ambition. The combination of distorted visuals, oppressive level layouts, and a constant sense of vulnerability works to maintain psychological pressure throughout the experience. Moments where reality seems to fracture or repeat themselves hint at deeper ideas about perception and mental instability. However, these moments are too infrequent and underdeveloped to fully carry the game, and they often lack the narrative payoff needed to leave a lasting impact. Reception to Psi Project reflects its rough and uncompromising nature. Many players struggle to look past its lack of polish, citing clunky mechanics, repetitive gameplay, and an unclear narrative as major drawbacks. Others appreciate its rawness and interpret its flaws as part of an intentionally hostile design philosophy. Even so, the game’s limited scope and execution make it difficult to recommend beyond a very specific audience. Ultimately, Psi Project is a niche title that will only resonate with players who have a strong tolerance for experimental, low-budget horror shooters and a willingness to overlook technical shortcomings in pursuit of atmosphere. It offers glimpses of interesting ideas and a commitment to psychological unease, but those ideas are never fully realized through its gameplay or storytelling. For fans of retro shooters and abstract horror concepts, it may be worth exploring as a curiosity. For most players, however, Psi Project is likely to feel more frustrating than frightening, remembered more for its ambition than for its success. Rating: 4/10
