Reviews
For over a decade, Proteus has been a comfortable and inspirational dream world to return to. No, it is not a complex game, but it is a memorable one.
Bite sized little walk through nature. You'll probably want to pick it up on sale though.
I can't believe such a simple game could achieve so much. It felt like a breath of fresh air for my mind. A masterpiece both visually and audibly.

There are games you play, and then there are games you return to. Proteus is firmly the latter for me. It isn’t something I approach with goals or expectations, and it’s not a game I “complete” in any traditional sense. Instead, it’s a place I revisit... like a quiet path I know by heart, Whenever I need to slow down and breathe. There’s something deeply grounding about the way Proteus exists. Its world is simple, almost abstract, yet it feels alive in a way that’s hard to articulate. The shifting colours, the ambient sounds, the way the landscape unfolds without urgency - it all creates a space that asks nothing of you except to be present. No pressure, no failure, no rush. Just… being. For me, it taps into something personal. It reminds me of long walks through the Welsh and English countryside, those moments where the world feels wide and quiet, where time softens and your thoughts settle into something gentler. There’s that same sense of solitude here, but it’s never lonely. It’s comforting. Familiar. What makes Proteus special is that it trusts you to find your own meaning in it. It doesn’t try to impress you with spectacle or challenge you with difficulty. Instead, it offers a small, self-contained world and lets you exist within it. And somehow, that simplicity becomes its greatest strength. In a medium so often driven by noise and urgency, Proteus feels like a pause, a reminder that sometimes, the most meaningful experiences aren’t about doing more but about stepping back. It’s not a game I recommend because it’s exciting or groundbreaking. I recommend it because it’s gentle. Because it’s quiet. Because, every now and then, it gives me exactly what I need - a moment to just be.
It's a nice experience I go through whenever I get a new gaming PC, the aurora borealis in winter is especially pretty
Ты также прекрасно, как и в день когда я тебя потерял
Not my favorite walking sim, but it's peaceful.
Very repetitive, but a nice escape from reality sometimes
Грустная игра о неизбежности смерти
