Project Wingman

Amazing game with Amazing soundtracks. Premise is pretty good, story makes as much sense anyways as some of the Ace Combat games. Fun plane game regardless. Conquest mode is a nice way to increase replayability. Aircraft handle a little different than Ace Combat, the gun and special weapons feel powerful, and runs well on a laptop 1050ti.

If you like any of the PS2 era Ace Combat games but didn't enjoy the constant drone spam and inane dialogue of AC7 I would heartily recommend this game. There are clearly some compromises in terms of budget but I promise when you are doing barrel rolls through the air trying to avoid enemy rail gun fire you will not care in the slightest. Cheap, good game but not for people who don't enjoy orange.

My first foray into the flight action genre, and it was enjoyable. The story is very shallow, but the gameplay made up for it and the controls weren't too difficult to pick up. Locking improved jets behind mission-earned currency forces a bit of a grind for mid to endgame content, but it wasn't terrible. There are mission modifiers that boost your XP and money gains, as well as shaking up the gameplay. Cannons-only, increased enemy health and numbers, deadlier enemies all add replayability. Halfway through the campaign you fight in an enormous dogfight, which was probably the standout mission for me. Every so often I'll hop on just to go through that chaos once more time. I don't have much to compare the game to overall, but I'd say it could feel average for the genre. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it.

I have already beat the entire game, then beat it in VR, then beat it on the hardest difficulty and did the same with conquest. I am looking forward to beat the Frontline 59 DLC aswell. 100% worth it, I'd pay double to experience Project wingman again. And I only took the sale because I got to beat the game before this purchase, Performance wise, runs smoothly on my pc, 120+ FPS on medium to high settings, 200+ on minimum settings. If you have the extra processing power to spare, you can also render upscale up to 1.5x for crisper image. The VR functionality is fine, you essentially use VR as just a First person visor, as all controls are still present on your keyboard or Gamepad. The game has what I'd have to say is probably the best control scheme I've seen for a plane game yet, and decent skin modding support. I hope whatever comes next from D2 devs is as good as Project Wingman is and its Subsequent DLC, because I wanna support these guys in the future
