Princess Farmer is a cute and very queer puzzle game. It's a very fun spin on the match 3 genre. I'm leaving some thoughts on the game. The graphics are pretty cute. It has a colorful aesthetic, but the colors aren't annoying on the eyes. Every character has a furry aesthetic. I wouldn't say the game has a pixel art style, despite what the menus show. If anything, the game reminds me a bit of how flash games are drawn, but a lot more polished. The visuals are very nice and you're always looking at varied environments with lots of fun characters. There's some really nice music tracks in this game. There's a good variety of songs you can experience. No song felt particularly out of place (even the very pop sounding one). I honestly have no complaints about the music and it's a pretty memorable soundtrack. The characters and how the game is written is super fun. Every character is so hecking cute and I started just acting all shy from every girl you meet. The characters are just so pleasant that you want to hug them all. I really appreciate the queer representation and how each character expresses their queerness was very natural. It just felt like actual queer characters with fun personalities. The plot was also fun and I love the villain character. I also saw that cheeky Sailor Moon reference and was smiling a lot from it. I think this game does queer writing and representation well. And makes me want to be a shy mess around girls.... The gameplay is well.. it's match 3. But the stages are fresh and they try to implement different gimmicks to keep things fresh. The game is also not too long to outstay its welcome. I'm guessing you can have a good maybe 6 to 15 hours of gameplay and the little challenges that the game continues to throw at you are great. The game also has different difficulty options depending on what you want. There's an arcadey option that's more casual, a puzzle focused one where you're meant to think about your moves and a mode that's meant to be a balance of both. I've personally chosen the arcadey style, as I just wanted to go through a very casual experience. The game is separated into episodes and each episode has a separate match 3 section to go through. You're scored based on your performance as well as how quickly you've gotten through the given section. The game also introduces different conditions to finish a given section of an episode. Sometimes it's do horizontal/vertical/diagonal matches. Sometimes it's matching a specific vegetable or going for a shiny vegetable. Sometimes it's getting the right score or finishing a stage quickly. And there are little surprises being introduced constantly. Enough that I never could get tired of the game. It's fun is what I'm saying! I think this is a wonderful display of a queer game and it's also one of those cases where you take a casual genre of game that typically has little to no substance (match 3 in this case) and add a ton of nice gameplay additions and a ton of story and charm to it. Seeing all the trans and enby flags in the game was so nice. And the lesbian flags and gosh. It's just so nice experiencing games that show representation for queer folks. I felt seen and comfortable. Give this game a try if any of what I've mentioned seems appealing. I thought this game was very fun!

❗Status Finished

🎮Played On SteamDeck Only

⏱️Game Length The game is short but the way the levels are setup, as long as you don't mind repetitve storytelling, you can go back and get more out of the levels with different playstyle settings, etc. It took me about 4.7 hours to beat the game.

🔄Replay Value Low; I'm saying it is low because the game has a story to it and once you beat that there is little motivation to REPLAY the story, however, there are more cosmetics and things to unlock from multiple replays and the match-3 levels themselves are different with different playstyles, companions, etc. Which could make for more replay value, however if you are centered on story alone, this smaller but beautiful game once beat, is beat.

💙Favorites 💬 Art Direction: The art in this game is nostalgic, cozy, and just beautiful! I had a blast even looking at the pixel art for the different veggies you are matching, or the different characters you meet and their expressions. 💬 Gameplay: I thought this was a really interesting take on the match-3 game genre, one that I've found I'm particularly fond of when going through bouts of stress and whatnot. Instead of Tetris to calm the mind, Match-3 is my go to now. But there are so many ways that Match-3 can show up, and I liked this one mixed with the farming mechanic and having other element stuff happening to spice up gameplay!

🛠️Improvements 💭 Add more Replayability: I adored so many aspects of this game, but I found that once I beat the relatively short main story, there was little motivation for someone like me to continue. So addressing a DLC or expansion or sequel that looks into expanding on this idea but with more breadth and time could be really exciting to see!

🎯Verdict It might take some time, but I could definitely see myself coming back to this as it was just a cozy experience. It's also a little underrated in my opinion, I'm surprised in the cozy spheres this game is not recommended more. I had a blast with the short little storyline, the outfits and customization options, and the fun gameplay mechanics. I appreciate all the work the dev(s) have put into this little indie game and for anyone who does like match-3, I WOULD recommend this little gem.

This farmer gay!! Good for her :3
Общество считает, что я буду счастливее, если куплю новый "DOOM". Я считаю, что я буду счастливее, если найду давно взятую в Хамбле игру про "сесбиан-лекс-с-антропоморфными-крольчихами-и-незатейливым сюжетом".

I hope I never play anything this janky again. Just because something CAN be made, does not mean it SHOULD.
Princess Farmer feels like the kind of game I would've happily played on my Nintendo DS back in the day, and I mean that as a compliment. The characters are interesting, the art is cute, and the match-3 gameplay is simple but satisfying. There are enough different puzzle styles to keep things fun, and I liked the customization even if it's mostly colors, outfits, and sparkly extras. The story is short, but the dialogue is actually worth reading and the characters are easy to like. I also really liked the music, especially the ending song. Once the story is over, Quickplay gives it some solid replayability, especially since you can play with another person. For me, $15 is a little high for how short the story is. Around $10 feels much easier to recommend, but I still had a really good time with this one.
first of all, thank you to the person who gifted me this game! o(* ̄︶ ̄*)o honestly, i was in my match 3 binge gaming era so i picked this up to play in my library and boy (okay ironic when there's actually no boys in this game), did this game surprised me on its different take of the genre. instead of swiping the vegetables, you have to pull and place them with a limit of 5 vegetables in your grasp at a time. i also love smashing rocks so definitely recommend episode 2 stage 4 (also for the achievement)! what i found a tad bit annoying was the no-skip button for dialogues when replaying any stage. oh and also, it would have been nice if there was like a symbol to indicate if the certain stage has rocks or storms because 'playing' each cassette tape to search for that one specific stage is quite cumbersome. other than that, wuhluhwuhs (and anyone else!) who love a cozy match 3 with bunnies most definitely need to add this game to your collection ☆*: .。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
