Incredible gameplay that actually lets you choose the way you play which is incredibly enjoyable since you could be really stealthy or do the way I did it; In which it can be condensed into that image of that guy shouting gay at an elephant and lobbing a rock except it's the recycler charge. So all and all including the amazing eldritch theming and adaptive gameplay, Worth your time!
One of the all-time greats and one of the best things to (possibly ever) come out from Arkane Studios. Prey has one of the best opening sequences I've ever played in a game. It's got a killer setting with a fully explorable space station. The atmosphere is thrilling, teetering into horror territory. I loved the enemy design, especially the mimics which force you to be paranoid, on the lookout for anything that looks slightly off. Also love how every little bit of clutter is useful in some way; the recycling mechanic allows you to extract resources from nearly everything to craft useful items. This game is also the perfect thing for completionists and people who love poring over every little detail; there are so many emails and notes to read, people to find, safes to crack, and little secrets that reward your time. The only complaint I have with this game is the story. It loses its steam not too far in, and there's a lot of moments where the game basically puts everything on lockdown and forces you to go on this linear path to complete the main objective, which isn't ideal for a game whose biggest strengths include this open environment. Also, the ending(s) could've been a bit stronger.
Good game type shi, bit all over but fun gameplay and shi -i can meet inn the middel with a 7.9/10
Excellent game with a great story and fantastic setting.
I remember being extremely excited for Dishonored and reading about it in my friends big brothers room on his game informer (i think? haha it's been a while) magazine. Dishonored came and was great! loved 2 as well. But wow, Prey is another beast. It's so good. I was stealthing around and for the first time in my long experience playing games i was reading anything and everything i could in-game to try and piece together what was going on. I was absolutely enraptured by the games story and focused gameplay.
Absolutely deserves more love!! This wasn't my first time playing Prey. I originally completed it years ago on PS4, and coming back to it now only reminded me why I loved it so much. Some games don't age well. Prey isn't one of them. The freedom this game gives you is incredible. Every problem has multiple solutions, exploration is constantly rewarded, and Talos I is one of the best-designed locations I've ever explored in a video game. Instead of following a single path, the game encourages you to think creatively. If something looks impossible, chances are there's another way around it. The atmosphere is amazing. You're never quite comfortable, resources are always valuable, and every new area makes you wonder what you'll find next. The Typhon remain some of the most unique enemies I've encountered in any game! I also love how much the game respects the player's intelligence. It doesn't constantly hold your hand or throw objective markers at every little thing. It trusts you to explore, experiment, and figure things out for yourself, and that's incredibly refreshing. The story is excellent, the audio logs actually made me care about the people who lived on Talos I, and the ending stayed with me long after the credits rolled. It's a real shame this game never became the huge success it deserved. If you enjoy games that reward exploration, creativity, and player choice instead of simply leading you from one objective to the next, Prey is an absolute must-play. Even after all these years, it's still one of the best immersive sims ever made. Highly recommended
Talos 1 Bridge Security Officer #1: The Mimics and Typhon are EVERYWHERE! Must have game if you like story, mimics, and aliens. The objective markers can be annoying at times but it can be fixed in the mission select screen. An-OH NO! THE TYPHON ARE STARTING TO GET IN! GET IT NOW! QUICK GE-...
great game. One of my favorites. Very much like bioshock with a scary setting but even better in allowing you to fight youre way through with various weapons and abilities as well as physical fun with jumping and flying and climbing using your own constructed platforms. I love a scary game that doesnt rely on just darkness and jumpscares to make it creepy. Tho the mimics make lots of jumpscares. Loved the themes and the story and the bad guys were great, loved the feeling of being hunted so fun. Good length took about 40 hours but plenty idle time and im a wuss so i play through very slow and methodicalso as not to get ambushed and scared hah.
imo the best game ever
