Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 4 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Police Quest SWAT 2 is proof that you should always give a game a second chance.
Another one of those games that I remember seeing at the store as a kid and thinking that I'd buy this immediately if i only had the necessary 20 Deutsche Mark. So here we are 25 years later, and i finally can afford those 6 Euros. Great Success. While it's predecessor came in the form of an extremely cheesy and frustrating adventure / interactive movie mix, Police Quest SWAT 2 is finally a proper realtime tactics game in the tradition of games like Commandos and Jagged Alliance. As is obvious from the title, you command a SWAT Team through a 15 missions long campaign full of domestic violence situations, bank roberries, hostage takings and psychopaths on a rampage. In a neat twist, there is a second campaign with 15 more missions that lets you play as the bad guys, but the missions in this second campaign are either so ridiculously easy or so ridiculously frustrating that it feels downright broken at times. Many of the missions can be completed in under a minute or two just by taking your squad and immediately running off to the edge of the map (bad guys escaped = win!), others are so cryptic that you'll almost certainly need to look at a walkthrough. It's really nothing more than just a stupid little gimmick. Calling this a game with two fully fleshed out campaigns would be basically false advertising, really. Now when I first started the game, I thought it really sucked, and that was mainly because of the fiddly and ponderous controls. The UI is actually not that bad and pretty clear if you take a minute to look at all the buttons and internalize what they do, but to develop an adequate understanding of how to actually get your squad to do what you want them to admittedly took me a couple of hours. Additionally, thanks to the extremely outdated visuals, everything is so small and undetailed in this game, which makes it pretty hard to see what's really going on at first. Seriously, if you compare this to the first Commandos, which was released just a couple of months later, Police Quest Swat 2 looks like a bucket full of barf. Unfortunately, the game runs pretty choppy on modern systems, too (not so much that it becomes unplayable, though) and all together the outdated, miniscule visuals, antiquated controls and pretty erratic AI almost made me dismiss SWAT 2 as just one of those games that are simply way too old to still be enjoyable. But boy, after i gained more and more understanding of the controls and mechanics and finally disovered the omnipotent power of the almighty gas grenade launcher, the game made quite a recovery and turned from a initially frustrating mess into a surprisingly easy and increasingly entertaining affair. It's no Commandos Behind Enemy Lines for sure, but in total I had a lot more fun with this than I thought I would during the first two hours. It's all about playing the game until you get it instead of just immediately throwing it to the sharks because it appears horribly ugly and unmanageable at first. However, even though I managed to pull through until the game somewhat clicked for me, I am perfectly aware that barely a few modern gamers would have the same patience. After all, I'm kind of a SWAT series enthusiast because I really liked SWAT 3 ever since it's realease in 1999 and it's a matter of nostalgia, too, so I can't really recommend this to everybody. Maybe I personally would want to give it a slightly higher rating, but I guess objectively a 4/8 will have to do. Still pretty solid for a 25 years old ugly tactics game that looks like ass and controls like sh*t, though. _________________________________________________________________________________ POLICE QUEST SWAT 2 Genre: Realtime tactics Release: Q2 1998 ( ) 0/8 Simply one of the worst games ever made. This game is just amazing. Apart from the fact that the game is really buggy on modern os`s, the core gameplay is just so amazingly realistic! Never woud i think that a simple 6 dollar bad looking swat game can turn into a realistic action shooter. I woud reccomend this game to anyone looking into tactical shooters
🔥
Jogo legalzinho, lembra a infância
Il gioco è un classico ma se avete un pc moderno avrete parecchi problemi a giocarlo. Consiglio una macchina virtuale che emuli windows XP o un sistema di quell'epoca.
Great old school game!
Police Quest: SWAT 2 is a classic tactical strategy game that takes the long-running Police Quest series in a bold new direction by placing players in the role of a commander rather than an officer on the front lines. Instead of focusing on fast-paced gunplay, the experience revolves around planning, leadership, and making calculated decisions under pressure. Every mission emphasizes the importance of preparation, teamwork, and proper execution, creating a game that rewards patience and strategic thinking far more than quick reflexes. Despite its age, the core design still feels distinctive because it captures the responsibilities of leading specialized law enforcement units instead of simply participating in action-heavy encounters. One of the game's standout features is its dual-campaign structure, allowing players to experience events from both sides of the conflict. Commanding an elite SWAT team requires protecting civilians, securing dangerous locations, and resolving high-risk situations with precision, while leading a terrorist organization presents an entirely different set of objectives and tactical priorities. This approach greatly increases replay value, as each campaign demands unique strategies and decision-making. The game also offers an impressive roster of one hundred SWAT officers and one hundred terrorists, giving players plenty of opportunities to experiment with different unit combinations throughout its thirty total missions. The addition of a mission editor further extends its longevity by encouraging players to create and customize their own scenarios. The tactical gameplay remains the heart of the experience. Before deploying into dangerous operations, players are introduced to SWAT procedures through training exercises that explain the fundamentals of movement, coordination, and marksmanship. Once missions begin, every command has meaningful consequences. Positioning officers correctly, timing assaults, protecting hostages, and responding to changing threats all contribute to success. Enemies actively pursue their own objectives instead of waiting passively, making each encounter feel dynamic and unpredictable. The result is a challenging strategy game that constantly encourages careful planning over reckless aggression. The wide selection of tactical equipment also enhances the depth of each operation. Specialized units such as snipers, K-9 teams, bomb experts, helicopters, and armored vehicles provide valuable support depending on the situation. Players can also utilize a variety of tools and weapons, including flashbangs, breaching explosives, submachine guns, and other specialized gear to adapt their tactics to each mission. Rather than relying on overwhelming force, the game encourages players to analyze every situation and select the most appropriate resources. This thoughtful approach reinforces the realistic tone that defines the overall experience. Naturally, the game's presentation reflects its late-1990s origins. Character models, animations, and environmental detail appear dated by modern standards, while the interface can initially feel cumbersome for newcomers accustomed to contemporary strategy games. However, the isometric viewpoint offers a clear perspective of the battlefield, making it easier to coordinate multiple squads and monitor unfolding situations. The audio also contributes effectively to the atmosphere through mission briefings, radio communications, and weapon effects that reinforce the tension of high-risk police operations. Police Quest: SWAT 2 succeeds because it remains committed to tactical realism instead of cinematic spectacle. Completing missions requires discipline, sound judgment, and efficient leadership rather than simply eliminating every hostile target. This emphasis on authentic command decisions gives the game an identity that still stands apart from many modern tactical titles. Although the aging visuals, interface limitations, and occasional pathfinding issues reveal its age, the underlying gameplay systems remain engaging for players willing to learn their intricacies. With its extensive mission selection, dual campaigns, flexible tactical options, and enduring focus on strategic planning, Police Quest: SWAT 2 continues to be a memorable classic that deserves recognition among fans of realistic tactical strategy games. Rating: 7/10
Jogo sensacional! Joguei na infância! Sinto falta também do SWAT 4 que é em primeira pessoa.

Classic. Solid isometric game from the good old days. The campaigns are great but you need to seek information to complete some of the missions. Back in the day people would play online and that was an interesting time in history.
