Amazing I love it
AI solo battles are abysmal and far too difficult I have been playing this game essentially since launch. I have not missed any promos (besides $hiny Mewtwo), I have consistently played the rank seasons and have consecutively entered Masterball ranking. Every season I spend time crafting the best decks to participate and I used to have fun completing solo battle challenges to practice my decks. I greatly enjoyed this up until a couple of updates ago when the AI started becoming the god of Pokémon TCG. As someone who has played every meta of this game; from the GA days of Mewtwo/Gardevoir,, to the reign of Arceus into the reign of Darkrai/Giratina, through the Suicune dominance into the Mega era… never have I ever felt as cheated as a player than when I do during the most recent AI solo battle challenges on Expert difficulty. I’m not alone as the Reddit community for this game (r/ptcgp) has made many of posts about how broken the AI is. People have made claims that the AI in fact does have a higher chance of getting heads, going 2nd, and getting the right draws. While I don’t have any means to test this, the writing is on the wall. The most recent M-Houndoom EX solo battles were my nail in the coffin. A constant masterball level player should not be struggling how I am, but it’s obvious my cards are against me (literally). I have seen my AI opponent pull off insane combos while I struggle to get my main strategies going, and it’s a consistent thing. The M-Houndoom deck insanely achieves things like having 1 card left on turn 1 while I have 4, and then magically copycats for a whooping 4 more cards. The more common one is watching my opponent on turn 2 use double pokeballs and a professors research, meanwhile (I’m running Suicune/Baxcalibur/Chien Pao) I open with Frigibax and draw virtually no good cards to get my strategy going. I have never conceded as many times during solo AI battles like I have for this one. It feels like I’m just gonna have to cheese this deck with Oricorio’s. My biggest thing is that if myself, a constant Masterball achiever in the ranked mode of this game, is struggling with these battle challenges, I don’t see how any casual players are able to do them. These AI battles are completely alienating casual players who might want a chance at the promo cards, but are gonna have a hair-pulling experience just to defeat these battles, which you must defeat the expert level to get a guaranteed promo pack. I understand that before the changes these battles were decently easy, but that’s how it should be. I will be encouraging our community to review bomb the app until these changes are met, because believe me, this change was for the worst.
fun for collecting cards but the greed is utterly APPALLING Getting cards and building binders and displays are the most fun part of this app. The only HUGE problem I have with this, app and Pokemon games in general at this point are the EVENTS!!!!!!!! Everything being so event exclusive is super annoying especially when you want cosmetics related to your FAVORITE POKEMON and you can’t even have it because you missed ONE SHORT EVENT FROM OVER A YEAR AGO. If you are even going to do events make them rotate faster it’s obnoxious the amount of event exclusive stuff here. And another thing is all the promo cards and tcgp EXCLUSIVE cards are a terrible thing, why have an entire card dedicated to only one event that’s barely going to last a few weeks???? It’s only a lazy way to generate hype so if new cards are made they should always be physical too and not app exclusive. Also premium is just horrible, like explicitly showing how this app generates hype to get people to buy things, the ai battle uses premium exclusive things to only make people feel even more envious and it’s a very toxic way to set up an app. This game would be a whole world better if it weren’t everything so event heavy and premium dedicated, please stop.
I love this game. Absolute goat. One small suggestion Literally my favorite game on the planet. No joke. My one gripe: When you win a battle, I wish the victory screen would automatically resolve itself and move to the battle results screen automatically. The game already does this when you have been defeated or if you have conceded the battle. The victory screen, however, needs the user to tap the screen to continue to the battle results. If the game is accidentally closed or you accidentally navigate away from it while on the victory screen, the game relaunches instead of taking you back to that victory screen. A pop up asks if you want to return to the battle, and warns that if you do not return to the battle, it will be considered a loss. Because the battle has technically already ended, the game cannot actually take you back to the battle. The game will be stuck on a loading screen. You have to close and relaunch the game to get out of the loading screen. On relaunch, the same pop up occurs: “Your battle was interrupted while in progress. Do you want to resume it? If you do not resume, the battle will be counted as a loss.” And since you can’t return to the battle (because it has already ended), you have to choose to not return to the battle, thereby agreeing to lose the game you just won. This only happens in PvP games, not solo vs computer. I don’t encounter this problem often, but whenever I do, I feel very dejected and frustrated. I just wish the victory screen didn’t require user input to resolve. I love this game so much and I play it every day!!!! This is literally the one thing I keep running into 😖
Games are getting boring I’ve play this game since it came out. After a year this game still haven’t much for single player. If you don’t like pvp you can only draw card.
TCG live for dumb people A dumbed down version of TCG live… we needed this.
I This game is so good. This is so good. I play this all day.
This is so awesome I really like this game so much (:
my opinion on this game this is a pretty solid game. i do get frustrated in some battles every once in a while, but it’s still great. there are two things i want to point out, though. #1: pack points- i like the feature of pack point; being able to trade them out for cards you need instead of G A M B L I N G. i think there should be a few more ways to obtain pack points such as trading out duplicate cards and maybe purchasing them in the shop. the other thing i wanna point out is hourglasses. ever since i started playing, i received a lot more hourglasses than i do now. theres also like no missions for me to complete to actually get any. so i think there should be more ways to get pack and wonderglasses and more missions you can complete to earn them. thanks for reading this and I hope this game improves well.
Good game for card collectors It’s really good cuz u get to see all the Pokemon in different packs and I get to collect cool cards
