Plants vs. Zombies GOTY Edition

[h1]Plants vs Zombies Unsupported on Steam Deck and Steam Machine? I Think Not![/h1] Last time I checked, this game was in a Playable rating on Steam Compatibility Review but now it's Unsupported and I think I know the reason why. The game lags heavily on the Seed Selection screen and it is not a Steam Deck problem. I think this is the reason why Valve just decided to demote Plants vs Zombies from Playable to Unsupported. Fortunately, there is a fix to actually solve this problem. Just follow these three simple steps: 1. First, go to this github link and download the [u]PlantsVsZombies.exe[/u] https://github.com/DJZK/popcap-patches/blob/master/popcap-games/plants-vs-zombies-goty/no-drm/PlantsVsZombies.exe 2. Second, Go to Plants Vs Zombies folder and delete its original [u]PlantsVsZombies.exe[/u] executable file. [i](You can also backup the original file if you want. It's up to you)[/i] 3. Finally, move your downloaded [u]PlantsVsZombies.exe[/u] to the game's folder. That's it! The game is now fixed and it doesn't lag anymore on the Seed Selection screen. [h3]BONUS TIP[/h3] You can make the game slightly looks better by enabling the sharpess filter on your Steam Deck. Just follow these steps: 1. Go to game settings and [b]UNCHECK[/b] Fullscreen option 2. In the Quick Access Menu of the Steam Deck, go to Performance -> Advanced View -> Scaling Options and choose Stretch 3. Still on the Quick Access Menu, on the Scaling Filter enable Sharpness and choose between 3 or 5 it's up to you

The different regions also help achieve this effect [*]Progression through the main game is always fun, new plant with new mechanic, being introduced to defend against a new zombie with a specific weakness [*]All the extra modes provide so many extra hours of fun, survival hard has always been my favorite mode [*]Soundtrack is extremely iconic and absolutely HEAT. Laura Shigihara the GOAT [*]Idk what it is about it, probably nostalgia, but all the sound effects are so great and satisfying [*]I've always loved how satisfying it is to get near the end of a level and see your fully loaded layout, defending against the giant horde, order and chaos [/list] [h2]The Bad[/h2] [list] [*]A really small gripe I've always had about the game is that not all plants can be "effectively" used everywhere, I remember back then loving Tangle Kelp, but being sad when I couldn't use it on the Roof, and this extends to a couple other plants that don't really have a purpose outside of a few levels [*]The Zen Garden is iconic to the game, but ultimately it feels mostly pointless besides scratching a collection itch and getting some extra money, I wish more fun stuff was done with it [/list] [h2]The Random[/h2] [list] [*]I used to genuinely love the Tree of Wisdom so much as a kid, I was so sad when it ran out of new lines, though I kept growing it to like 400+ feet [*]TFW trying gatling torchwood strat, but glooms just be better [*]Cactus when Blover exists [*]WEBBYWOFFLE! RARAUGROARRR! [/list] [h2]Overall Thoughts[/h2] Iconic, good, everyone should play this game even if you don't like tower defense games, this game is built different trust. If a game got all of its achievements winned, it means it is not a game. It is something sincere and pure to me, equal to an experience that is remembered lovingly in my soul. All that I could have done throughout my time within this performance, everything I could have learned and mastered with patient practice and an open heart and mind, all is tied in my history with and to whatever art I am (or was) experiencing. Nature is widely embraced in my memory. I discovered Plants vs. Zombies in my early childhood, and I tell myself, no matter how much years have passed, I will always love this. The falling sunlight from the sky in the day levels, the overall atmosphere change during the calming night and a cautious, yet 'brave' fog, the feel of finality and an overcoming challenge on the roof and a somewhat curious feel of the mini-games. It is all well kept in a corner of my mind that shall always cherish what I have loved. To love is to act, to grant your attention and genuine feelings to whatever or whoever you love. By gifting myself all achievements in this game, I have shown my love, as well as by writing this review. I do not care about any new games in the franchise as they pose no interest to me, yet this — [i] this [/i] is what I truly care about. Thank you, Nature.
