Terrible on Steam OS, major flipper lag on both Deck and Steam Machine. The optimization of this game is a joke

PinballFX is truly the best pinball game ever made. If you are new to the series or new to pinball, I highly recommend this game. However, I paid hundreds of dollars for the tables on previous versions of the game and they do not carry over. I will NOT be buyin again. I understand it took time and effort for Zen Studios to convert the tables to the new format, but their decision to lock all previously paid tables behind another paywall is anythign but Zen. It's infuriating. If they let us keep our previously purchased tables, I would be happily spending more money on new tables that I don't yet own. But as a result of their business decision, I will not be purchasing any new tables. ASK YOURSELF THIS: if you buy all the tables currently available now (well over $500 worth) and they release a new version of the game next year, will YOU buy them all again? /// Conclusion: PinballFX is the best pinball game ever made, but it comes at a steep price that does nothing to honor loyalty.

A lot of the negative reviews for Pinball FX seem to focus almost entirely on pricing and the fact that tables from previous games have to be purchased again. Very little of that criticism seems to acknowledge what an extraordinary product Zen Studios has actually built. Pinball is a niche part of the games industry, and producing a game like Pinball FX is not cheap. There are developers, artists, programmers, designers, sound engineers, licensing costs, servers, maintenance, updates, and many other expenses that players simply do not see. At the same time, the number of people actually playing pinball games is relatively small. Just look at the player rankings: the number of players on many tables doesn't even reach 25,000. I have no idea what Zen Studios' margins look like, but I do know that I am glad the studio is still here and continuing to make pinball games at this level. The idea that buying a game once should automatically entitle you to a lifetime of updates and future content is also rather strange to me. Maybe I'm just getting old. I grew up with Atari and Nintendo cartridges, where you bought a game and that was the end of the transaction. You owned that game, not an indefinite service agreement with the developer. And the whole "having to buy the tables again" argument is overstated anyway. Pinball FX 3 still exists and can still be played. Nobody is taking that game away from you. As for Pinball FX itself: this is an excellent pinball game. The physics are fantastic, the presentation is polished, the tables look and sound great, and there is an enormous amount of variety for anyone who genuinely loves pinball. Zen Studios has created one of the best digital pinball platforms available, and I would much rather see a studio like this continue to exist than disappear because people refuse to accept that making and maintaining games costs money. I am happy that Zen Studios is still making pinball. Pinball FX is a great product for pinball fans, and I hope there is enough support for it to keep the studio alive and developing new tables for years to come.

Zero stars. I paid the $23 for a pack and received only a few of the games I was expecting. After playing those games, the next day the games I paid for and played are now "trial" for purchase. I failed to get a refund. I will not pay for the same games again and will never buy from FX again. This is a bad reflection on Steam.

A great pinball sim with some absolutely classic tables! Pinball FX has a ton of awesome tables but my main reason for playing is the Williams and Bally tables, the classics, the big dogs like High Speed and Medieval Madness and more! and the physics for these particular tables are on point. The ball feels weighty and heavy, when you catch the ball or hit it around it feels great, solid re-creations of classic tables. Tournament system is awesome! customisation is awesome and plenty of variety for any kind of player from novice to pro. Great game!

Every loss feels cheap and unnatural (impossible angle shots coming straight back at you with no chance to save). The tables don't feel right (kickers dont fire when they should, creating cheap losses) All the extra animations and such, like the floating points over the table, are greatly distracting, especially in STTNG, where the floating point totals obscure the ball coming towards the bumpers, making an already hard shot almost impossible. There's probably better simulations available.

I would of been impressed if they managed to stuff up a pinball game. It's simple fun!
