Dirty, grimy, sleazy - just as it should be. Wears its inspirations on its sleeve, but the mix results in a definite vibe of its own. Plays as a no frills thrill ride of urban decay flavoured carnage, you make split second decisions to carry you through to the next bout of visceral violence, no savescumming your way through encounters. Full recommendation. We love you too, tito.
The aesthetics recall Rockstar's MANHUNT while the gameplay feels inspired by both Hotline Miami and a bit of Hitman. Expansive levels invite creative approaches to your missions, but the game never loses sight of embracing the base satisfaction of some grisly violence. I'm a fan of kicking a guy into a wall, and then throwing my machete at him- impaling him to said wall, and saying "Stick around!" It's a classic.

Good gameplay, love the graphics and art style (ALSO makes it run smooth like BUTTA), overall very fun. The level design is like derelict places occupied by pests, and those pests are the weirdos trying to kill you. Nice weapon variety, I like the masks you can collect (first mask you get seems the best though, there needs to be some more variety in benefits they provide), maybe a few more throwables could be nice for the sake of fun (like throwing stars, or bear traps, or maybe even tools to lure and distract enemies like musical toys, or radios, or even a whoopie cushion.) Besides that I'm eagerly awaiting the full release!
Super refreshing and fun game. Looking forward to the crafting update!

cool, excited for the full game
I bought this game the day after it released, Sep 19th, and I've played each level a multitude of times alongside finding each mask. This is a fantastic game made by a dev who wanted to have fun. From the guns with solid hipfire accuracy, to the balance changed making bad masks and guns far more viable, to even the tf2 inspired melee hit reg (learned that one from the dev himself when we spoke at pax), this game is dripping with soul and drive. Seeing the announcement of the crafting update with remixed levels and a new level altogether has justified my purchase several times over and makes the current price nothing but the best value. Please try this game, the dev was even kind enough to put out a free demo so you can try before you buy.
I don't know how to write a review for this game. It is a banger. Guns are awesome. Play it
It's hard for me to put into words how much I love PIGFACE. It scratches a certain itch, you can absolutely lose yourself in this game after already playing everything else out there. I rarely buy early access games anymore, but this is worth it. The gameplay is simple yet addicting. You pick your loadout in the van and get dropped into a sandbox where you complete your objectives and tackle areas in whatever order you please. The missions get progressively harder, but you unlock new guns and equipment that give you the upper hand. Depending on your loadout you can be an unstoppable action hero, a slasher killer, or improvise on the fly using your enemies' guns. Split-second decisions determine how your mission plays out, and that's what makes this game great. Thank you tito for reminding us that indie games are more fun than anything the AAA industry is putting out these days. :) My favorites: eagle + grenade launcher + cowgirl mask + cigarette + bandolier + hunting knife @ penitentiary
