While this game is definitely rough around the edges, because of the writing, the interesting characters and the choices that allow you to influence the world around you, I'd ultimately still recommend this game.
Cute theme but I didn't really get into the story or puzzles.
I honestly loved this game. There are some bugs around, but it is definitely enjoyable and playable, and I just finished one playthrough and can't wait starting a new one. PRO - The lore and world building. This fantasy is a 1920s fantasy. Brialynne visits a big new city, finding out about new technologies like motion pictures, automobiles etc. The world is amazingly crafted, especially if you are a bit curious about fantasy worlds that are not medieval. The game is not fighting based, but exploration based, so if you enjoy walking around a new world and talking with npcs and discovering what is going on, you will probably like this game. - The 1920s keep also the horrible discrimination of that time. It is implied that, different from some other fantasy's "fantasy racism", in this case orcs and goblins did nothing wrong in the past but being different from humans, elves and dwarves. It was definitely interesting to play as the hero Brialynne, who killed the hero of goblins and orcs, and slowly finding out that the war had been horrible and the world is not black and white. - Atmosphere, music, npcs. Just the general atmosphere makes me wish I could play forever in this game. - The general investigation is quite good! Definitely did not see the ending twist at all and it fit with the general idea of the game, and with what the game was trying to do. Loved it! CON - The game was episodic, but now you can find the whole game (7 episodes) ready and complete as the last episode came out November 2019. The episodic factor was definitely a con for me, as I like to play a whole game, but does not apply anymore to Pendula Swing. - Some quests are a bit vague or buggy, but nothing major. A couple of times I thought I was dealing with a bug, before finding out that I was initiating dialogue with the wrong npc.

The game was really good! I love the analysis you do in the book and i also love the music and the voices. I noticed that when i did the side quests and did not do the clue searching right after each other i did not get the analysis book to pop up. This made me run around quite a long time until i tried to check the book. I also noticed that the door to the kitchen was hard to see when i was in the living room. The last thing i noticed was that if you stand to close to the NPCs its hard to see what the chat boxes say. Overall i Love the atmosphere and the layout of mystery. I will definitely play more of this.

Still a bit rough around the edges (like the twitchy camera) but a very pleasant game, recommended for the setting and characters alone!
Your latest DnD campaign meets the roaring twenties. I can say that from having played this first episode for just under an hour, I am hooked. I love the diversity of the characters, I love that it is LGBT+, and I love how even though there seem to be some prejudiced things the character might say they are handled very very sensibly. This is the game I didn't know I needed until I found it. If there were to be made into an MMORPG I'd probably quit life and play it 24/7.
