The FPS portion of the game is pretty fun, there's a research tree, there's management of your base and resource collection. And then there's the strategies, like which core powerups you choose from. I can see why people like the toxic fog, I need to build out all of the varieties. Also your soldier selection can matter, like having shield bearers and other types. Enjoyable so far!

The game is in a state right now that whilst I would be angry if development stopped, I would be content with my purchase. You cant say that about many early access games these days. It has a lot going for it atm, the gameplay and theme are pretty great, the biggest downfall atm is the UX imo. It can be a bit repetative in the earlier parts of the game and not in a good roguelike kind of way. I think with more time to cook up new content and build on the experience thats there + some UX improvement this game will be an all time favourite!

Worth to buy focus on first person shooting > exploring > base build > base production
