This game has a lot going for it. The equipment system is really unique, you got mitochondria that can power your weapons and other stuff with vastly different requirements. You got infusers that modify what your weapons do. You can have a little Money/XP/Health/Minion factory going on inside your guy while you're killing stuff. There's a lot of fun build variety and I found it surprisingly intuitive, after an hour or so you will be thinking according to the weird cell logic of the game. Personally I got used to the controls fairly quickly and had a blast overall. The bad is mostly the *roguelite* permanent upgrade system. I never like these (It makes the game hardest at the start and easier as you progress, which turns it into less of a test of skill or knowledge and more of a test of patience). But this one is particularly stingy, I couldn't even afford the next upgrade after beating the final boss. :( And you need these upgrades man, +10% damage, +15%, +100% for your front weapons, where I put my best weapons anyway! It's especially frustrating because there is a huge difficulty spike in the lung level, and the final boss has a billion health. I can only recommend lowering the difficulty at the end if you value your sanity (and time not spent grinding). But despite this big old gripe I had a very fun time with Pathogenic, which speaks to the quality of the game overall.
cool
Very fun, if a bit unbalanced. Suffers the same problem a lot of roguelikes where a fair chunk of the upgrades are woefully underpowered compared to others. Fortunately the upgrade pool isn't enormous, so the RNG never feels unfair or unfun.
Truly fantastic dual joystick roguelike. Just beat a run for the first time and it felt earned. Incredible music too, well worth checking out.
Топ
The idea great, maps are interesting, visuals look good but when you get to the gameplay part, it falls apart pretty fast. Shoutgun blast barely deal any damage, buffed overcharge doesnt work on it. What i mean is even if you upgrade your overcharge slot it doesnt matter bcs is not gonna increase over 1 plus projectile. Thats just one example and there are a lot of synergies wich either counterproductive or doesnt work. My orbiting shield for some reason blocks my active laser, rendering it completly useless. If those things getting fixed, i would recommend the game, but like this, i just got annoyed that "oh this doesnt do anything, and this, and this..." and then i just alt+f4-d from the game.
Very good game, the graphics and ganeplay are super smooth. Love how you can evolve them and add more until you break the game totally lol. Its very well put together and reminds me of some game like spore but cant out my finger on it lol. Totally worth the buy to be honest
