About
PANTHALASSA
In Panthalassa, you delve into an alien underwater world where you play as Magellan (aka MAG), an autonomous exploratory submarine who suffers a catastrophic malfunction and awakes anew, reborn in a highly advanced body, in a world they do not recognize. With technology alien to them and new emotions that were not there before.
In this game, you must find out where you are, whose body you inhabit, and if there are any hopes of returning home? There'll be secrets to uncover behind an mysterious civilization and your body's previous inhabitant - you may even find out a bit more than you bargained for.
Panthalassa is inspired by Point adventure games from the 90s and early 2000s. You see the world through the eyes of a machine and must navigate strange user interfaces where the digital and physical worlds clash. You will find new Aquatic Specimens, catalog them, solve puzzles and organically discover hidden information by searching every nook and cranny of this bizarre digital world.

Fun game you can complete on the weekend.
super fun exploration!! really dug all the philosophical themes too : ]
Why do you need MY opinion?
this was nice! the puzzles were a bit too simple and signposted for me though? especially in contrast with the heavier themes of the story and the framed advancements of the world we explore in it. had me rolling my eyes a lot lol. even so i still like that i had to take a lot of actual physical notes to keep track of my progress. big fan the dynamic between Tetra and MAG. having that kind of in built back and forth lead to a lot of the jokes that got the most laughs from me and it set a nice tone. have some complicated feelings on the presentation of broader themes but the overall vibes are compelling and i definitely wanna see what these folks cook up next
I don't usually leave reviews, but I feel this game deserves to be played by more people. I'm not usually a fan of point-and-click games, but Panthalassa's gameplay format, especially its use of old electronic device interfaces, immediately drew me in. Combined with the puzzles and the story it presents, this game is truly a hidden gem. From what I've seen, there's also an ARG associated with the game, and I'd love for more people who enjoy these kinds of mysteries to join the search and help uncover its secrets.
pretty fun and looks pretty, i dont play point and click games that much but the puzzles felt not too hard and not too easy so yeah i like it
an all-timer for sure, absolutely deserves more eyes on it. very thoroughly enjoyed and loved this one
I enjoyed the art, setting, and mystery of the game. Over time, the dialog felt repetitive, and more noise than signal. The dialog felt like too much of an exposition dump. I never got curious about the world quite like Outer Wilds. And the going back and forth to the library and pulling the levers each time started to add friction to the fun of the puzzles. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it over the other puzzle and mystery games out there.
