Graphics are cute and I love playing online in a open world with friends!
To those who dont want to read! - The game is awesome and you should try it. To those who want to hear my thoughts on the game! - Honestly this game is pretty good, if you like stardew valley youll likely like this game, but don't worry its not all just farming, and ranching, weve got a whole story line that you can follow, and quite a bit of it you don't need to farm much for. There are a few instances that you would need to get a few basic items, but its lots of running around. Something that you cant really do in stardew that you can do in this game is Hunting. I absolutely love the bow mechanics this game has to offer. Now if you like collecting things, ohhh man, they have plenty of things for you to collect, my home right now is stuffed with collected bugs gems, food, stuffies, and potato pods. As a person who loves fullfilling quests, i have had many quests to just do, all sorts of things i can do for the NPCs or even for other players! I would deffinetly give the game a try, the worst that happens is you find something to do! Who knows maybe youll find your oneness. (In game purpose)
Partner introduced me to this game. Booted it up and proceeded to play for the next 15 hours straight. Needless to say, I like this game :)
how yes no the goat, the myth, the legend
I think I suggest it, at least for the most part. It is a really cute game and my kid and I have had fun playing it. All cosmetics being locked behind paying and no way to earn the currency in game feels not great though. Then paired with a host of issues, bugs, and weird game choices like flour and butter are used in cooking all the time but you can't make those with the wheat you grow or the milk you get from your cows? As I play more (about 40 hours in) it is starting to feel that the game is extremely reliant on resource sinks beyond the costs of challenging/slower progression. I believe it is good practice to buy things from a free to play game you enjoy, I just don't care for when it feels like they're stacking the deck to make you want to pay money, but I will say it is less compulsory than an outright price tag, and there isn't any pay to win mechanics. I probably just want to have my cake and eat it too, though I'd probably be satisfied with some currency or neat cosmetics here and there in the free tier of the lunar paths (battle passes).
I played when this first came out, got caught up to an update, and kind of stopped playing for awhile. I came back to playing it this year and I realized how much i missed playing it. Palia constantly has new things added that I never thought could be added. The base game itself without the actual storyline quest is fun and super cozy but having the storyline and side quests add to the multitude of things you can do. I love that there isn't necessarily a cap to your skills, you can decorate multiple plots, and there is always something new to discover or strive to get/complete in the game. (As someone who is an achievement hunter this is hard as I always want to "complete" all the achievements BUT this is the one game I am will to sacrifice my achievement hunter love for lol) I also have to say the community surrounding this game is extremely supportive and welcoming. I have had so many other players help me with item requests, cutting flow trees down, completing blooms, etc. I've seen a lot of players helping out new ones with how to do things and its been a wholesome experience watching! Most importantly, I love that this game is NOT PAY TO WIN!! The only time you would ever use real money is for clothes, skins, pets, and horses. And for the "battlepasses" (Idk what else to call it lol) you would just unlock extra or more items. The currencies you can get from those (Kilima coins) don't help you progress in the actual game but rather give you more decor options to purchase from the Catalogue in City Hall for your our plot. Sorry if my review is all over the place but as someone who hates having to pay to progress in games, I love that this game really is only paying for cosmetics. And if you can't tell already, I love the game and would 100% recommend it if you want a game with endless things to do, a great community, and not feeling like you have to pay to progress. :))
