Mir gefällt die Entwicklung des Spieles sehr. Man merkt dass die Entwickler sich sehr viel Mühe geben. Die Events sind wirklich super gemacht und sie steigern sich.
As of now, Palia is the only farming/life sim that has hooked me enough to keep me playing it. That said, I should mention that I actually started my journey with Palia three years ago, when early access opened up to everyone. I then took a long break and returned in May of this year. Yes, since May I’ve clocked over 700 hours in Palia, and I don’t regret a single one (well, maybe except for fishing out that last missing "makeshift" item xD). Palia is the epitome of a "cozy" game - it is delightful, packed with interesting content, and features visuals that are truly pleasing to the eye. I really love the color palette chosen for the game world and its NPCs. Every element - from trees, minerals, insects, animals, and fish to herbs and plants - is beautifully rendered and eye-catching. It is also worth noting that every in-game activity - be it hunting, gathering, gardening, cooking, furniture making, fishing, bug catching, mining, and ranching - has its own charm and offers hours of entertainment! That is, of course, provided one enjoys that sort of thing in a game. Since I’ve already touched upon the subject of NPCs - I absolutely love the residents of Palia. Each villager has a unique character and an interesting personality, as well as a visual design that is pleasing to the eye and fits perfectly with the game’s art style. You can build closer relationships with every resident of Kilima - with some it’s just friendship, but with others, it can blossom into something deeper, like a romance. (Hodari forever, though I’m keeping an eye out for new possibilities in future updates. ^^’) The narrative in Palia is well-integrated with the other gameplay elements. It is engaging, enjoyable, and - in its own way - addictive, centering largely on the world's inhabitants, magic (known as "Flow"), and the history of the civilization that existed here before the Majiri settled the region. Each subsequent story update expands the game's lore, resolving some mysteries while introducing new ones for us to puzzle over until they are eventually unraveled. The game features numerous written records - books, scrolls, parchments, and stone tablets - that deepen one's understanding of Palia's history (I highly recommend reading them, as they contain fascinating details). Regarding Singularity 6’s recent - and somewhat controversial - decisions concerning the monetization of storage capacity upgrades: I understand why people are outraged - especially since the developers themselves had previously stated that this core game element would never be monetized. However, I also feel that the reaction - particularly on Discord and social media - was vastly overblown, aggressive, and simply unpleasant. I believe S6 should have implemented this monetization alongside an alternative option for players who wish to remain fully free-to-play or simply do not want to purchase these specific types of items. Currently, free storage expansion (earned through gameplay) only occurs alongside major story updates that introduce new zones and narrative content. It would be wise to consider a solution that keeps all parties satisfied. That said, I do not believe that attacking the developers or being hostile/unpleasant is the right way to protest these kinds of monetization strategies - especially considering the game is free-to-play (with paid items being mostly purely cosmetic). And please, remember - S6 needs to generate revenue to pay the people who create new content for the game. Another issue that matters to me is the problem of bugs in the game. Unfortunately, I get the impression that in the rush to frequently release new content - which is great, don't get me wrong - the developers aren't dedicating enough time to fixing bugs in the content that’s already there. You can still encounter bugs in Kilima, Bahari Bay, and Elderwood (no, not the cute creatures you catch with Auni). After every major update, the items that trigger quests reset. Consequently, the quest reappears in your journal, but you can't complete it because you can't interact with the remaining quest elements. So, it just sits there in your journal - you can't finish it or even delete it - while the marker on the map persist, which is incredibly frustrating. On top of that, a large number of essence-infested fishing spots at the Elderwood docks still aren't working; this makes it hard to complete a specific achievement and generally hinders fishing for essence. Not to mention how often you get stuck in the terrain, or how startled animals ram into you and interrupt whatever you're doing - leaving you unable to react (having a Sernuk run into me and interrupt the catch of a fish I’d spent hours hunting for was the final straw xD). In conclusion, my rating of the game would be 9.7/10. :) Pros: - very attractive, visually pleasing graphics - interesting, immersive storyline that draws you into the history and lore of Palia - diverse, intriguing residents with whom you can build long-lasting relationships - extensive home-building and resource-gathering systems - numerous seasonal events - gameplay offers rewarding gratification for the time invested in it - a wide range of romance options (something for players who enjoy this type of content) - a friendly community built on friendship and support (there is always someone in the game willing to help) Cons: - the game still contains gameplay-breaking bugs carried over from previous iterations - recent news regarding monetization (which upset the Palia community) - achievements heavily reliant on RNG (I know, I know - games will always have those; they just take a bit of the fun out of trying to earn them for me ^^’) - numerous typos and missing words in notes scattered throughout the world, as well as occasional missing content in conversations with Palia’s residents P.S. I’m hoping that every story update and/or new zone will add more inhabitants - characters with whom I can build relationships (friendships and romances) and through whom I can get to know the world. <3
