Palia

The microtransactions were always ridiculously priced ($30+ for an outfit, really?) But the recent update has really shown the company's true intentions. How many years has this game been considered "beta" with how empty most of the maps feel? On top of spending over $30 for outfits, COLORS (yes, some colors to customize items must be purchased), makeup and now storage? I have spent money in the early days because I sunk so many hours in on Switch, but this game isn't worth paying more than $5 for microtransactions.

Palia has now moved to monetizing core gameplay, this is the beginning of the end. I've been spending money supporting this game for years but I am done now because they've lost their way, and you should stop supporting them too, every dollar you spend now is just going to encourage them to gouge their players more and more. I regret ever having spent money on this game after they broke their promise they made to not ever go this direction. They recently added "Premium Storage" you have to buy with real money. This affects core gameplay, when they explicitly said they would NOT ever sell gameplay affecting items in the premium store. Basically the first step to pay to win, we all have already felt our storage space choking more and more, and now we know why, because they know it will force us to spend real money for more storage space, and this greed will start bleeding into all other aspects of this game. Their prices for cosmetics were already RIDICULOUS, I've bought thousands of dollars over the years for cosmetic stuff on OTHER games but the Palia cosmetics cost at least double for what you'd get from other games, so in the end I've always held back and spent less total money on this game than I would have if prices were cheaper, because the value isn't there. I'll probably still play the game, but I'm done spending money on it, the Premium Storage was the last straw.

As much as I love this game, the recent introduction of paid storage marks a significant shift in the morals of the developers and, thus, the future of Palia. S6 is proving to us that they are no better than large AAA gaming companies that use predatory monetization tactics to keep their playerbase paying for longer. It starts small. It starts optional. But I foresee a future where this game will no longer be playable without paying egregious amounts for major advantages. What an incredible shame and disappointment.

As of right now I have to leave a negative review. Overall I enjoy the game but the greed is ruining it.

I started playing Palia when open Beta launched so my hours are a lot more than what's shown on Steam and I truly love this game BUT the developers have broken their promise to it's very loyal player base. They promised they would never monetise gameplay. Sadly with the latest update players now need to pay real money for extra storage. It's a BIG deal and a very slippery slope no matter how they try to spin it. I REALLY hope there is a turn around so I can change this review in the near future but with the state of the game and gaming in general, I am not very optimistic.

since the ranching upgrade Palia sadly went full on cashgrab. the game has a very slow progression of content but its a lovely cozy grind game. (sadly not much content) - even if there a LOT of bugs sadly since the ranching update they went full on cashgrab with riding and breeding licenses for mounts, pet licenses for all the other animals and now they are even selling storage place (something thats very scarce and is actually gamebreaking) beside that, the prices are insanely high especially for the cosmetic skins but thats just a sidenote Singularity clearly broke they promise by not making this game pay to play or pay to win - because now, its both. so sadly i have to uninstall it and stop playing

Games evolving backwards and S6 are now completely ignoring the fact they said no gameplay would be locked behind a paywall. Players have been asking for more storage, so what do S6 do? Paid Storage for £5 PER UPGRADE???? Beyond this the amount of bugs with the game has increased with every update and S6 refuse to give any sort of response as to what is being worked on. I also submitted a bug report over a YEAR AGO and the bug still has not been fixed despite being told it would be. Do not financially support this game

Liked the game quite a alot, been playing it on and off for some time now but with the introduction of premium storage and stuff like "servers/lobbys" you can rent where you are able to build in the overworld i cant recommend this game anymore. Keep in mind that with the premium storage you get 100k Slots instead of a maximum of 18k Slots (for 100 bucks).
