About
Explore lost oceans and research a world that vanished millions of years ago.
Paleo Dive is an atmospheric VR diving adventure that takes you through more than 500 million years of Earth’s history. Explore five handcrafted underwater environments—from a Cambrian lagoon and colorful reefs to dense kelp forests and the darkness of the deep sea.
Move your arms naturally to swim through the water, collect discoveries, and pull yourself along suitable surfaces. Keep an eye on your oxygen and return to the research base in time. On Normal difficulty, dangerous creatures can attack, and a failed dive will cost you everything you discovered during that expedition.
Your wristwatch displays your oxygen, depth, water pressure, and remaining collectibles. A holographic map and an unlockable Finder help you navigate your surroundings.
Photograph prehistoric animals with your underwater camera. Capture each creature from four different angles to unlock a rotatable 3D specimen in your archive. Your photographs are permanently stored in a personal gallery.
Use the DNA scanner to collect additional research samples. Once a species has been fully documented through photography and its genome has been completely decoded, you can release it into your walk-in aquarium.
Collect fossil and map fragments, coins, and rare Moon Rocks. Recovered items and completed research unlock new diving areas, while coins allow you to improve your swimming performance, oxygen capacity, and equipment.
Create your own loadout using the camera, DNA scanner, headlamp, Finder, and oxygen bottle. Finding Moon Rocks also unlocks a Night Mode for each area.

First lets set the expectations; This is not subside. this is like subside but with ancient creatures whom you collect dna samples and pictures of to unlock new areas and species to put in an aquarium. Most of the creatures seem to have specific routes and wont react to you. nothing except the really small fish are really interactive, them smallies swim away from you. The swimming works mostly good for the valve index since an update, but there are some jank when you get near the bottom or try to take hold of something to push you forward. the hands often get stuck behind objects, and everything spasms out if you put your hand through the seabottom. The models look great, and the environments look good aswell. The graphics are not as good as subside. The game is made by a solo developer. Hopefully the dev is able to iron out some of the kinks, especially the interaction with the environment and the creatures. I recommend it, but dont expect subside polish. As the game is now, i am happy with my purchase and look forward to future updates.
Sehr schöne Experience.

So great! I dreamed of diving with trilobites since I was a kid. Just amazing 💖
I have played for about an hour, and am really enjoying it so far. It's very similar to Subside, which is fine by me. I'm playing with a Quest 3 on a 9950X3D and 4090 via Virtual Desktop. I haven't messed with any graphic settings and am just playing with the defaults, and it looks really good. Generally, performance has been pretty stable. I get an occasional stutter that seems to happen mostly when coming to the surface, but these are not very frequent. The creatures are well detailed, and I love that some of them can attack. Despite the random attack, the game is pretty relaxing and fun to explore. I read somewhere that this is a lone developer. If that's the case, it's a job well done and I am happy to see a few patches on the first day. I think the patches had already been applied by the time I played for the first time. I'm pretty thirsty for good VR content and like to support VR developers. This is a solid experience and it will stay in my library!
wear a diaper before going through the kelp forest, i shatt myself
