I'll preface my review by stating that like few handful of people, I've played since the open beta around late 2016-2017. Unlike a majority of people however, I've played paladins since then on almost all platforms it has ever been available on, not because I love paladins that much even though I do but because it was what I could access it on during those periods. Collectively over the years, my total amount of playtime hours are closer to 7-8k hours I say that to say despite everything, and I mean everything this game has gone through, there is no worse state that paladins has been in, more than now. This game has a very recent specific bug unlike anything I've ever experienced, and have tolerated and still struggle to tolerate today. After you, your team and the opposing team have successfully locked in your champions for a match and have been queued onto loading screen, they is a slight chance (say a 30% chance) you will be reverted back to the champion selection page, which renders you unable to do literally anything but force close the game. Unlike many, if you decided to launch paladins again and be placed back into the loading screen for the ongoing match that is probably already a "lost cause", there is another say 30% chance you will be reverted back to the homescreen which (you guessed it) is glitched and also renders you unable to do anything but force close the game for the second time. I personally have experienced this "bug" numerous of times, and for others that join the match normally, if you notice your teammate has disconnected literally as soon as the map loads, they probably had this bug. I personally have had to close and re-launch paladins three times because of this bug, and by that point your match has already ended, or you're currently down 0:3 with teammates that have either willingly left or have had this bug happen to them and simply refused to re-launch paladins again. Literally today, what lead me to make this review, was having my entire team, all five of us had this "bug", and only me (after to 2 restarts) and another rejoined the losing match. I don't see anyone talking about this "bug" in the reviews, but genuinely unless you have unlimited patience or a genuine appreciation for what paladins is despite the bugs, toxic playerbase and the mandatory steamrolls you will experience either because people don't play their class roles properly or utilize in-game mechanics like items effectively then, for your own sanity. Stay Away From This Game. I uninstalled this game very recently literally because our sole healer, purposely left mid match after we were up 2:0. For literally 0 reason. He did not return, but my teammates out of frustration left alongside him not too long after. I reinstalled this game because personally the fun experiences of the champions outweigh all of the negative experiences. Leaving games mid match, ♥♥♥♥ talking teammates during steamrolls, purposely afk-ing teammates because they are weak minded and believe they'll lose eitherway, hell some people throw matches just to spite other players. All of these things are normalized in Paladins. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, and I regret falling in love with this abused, mistreated abandonware, and the toxic negative playerbase that is a direct result of the treatment it received.
Fantastic game ruined by lobotomy teammates who play like they are disabled and blowing into a bagpipe to move their characters, also probably licking an ipad to shoot their guns. If you're expecting with players that have any sort of normal human brain capacity you're in the wrong place these guys play like dry sperm cells that barely crawled through the gates of the race. 10/10 game -10/10 teammates also viktor mains you need to be executed
A gem of an IP handled by the most incompetent and undeserving company in gaming history. Never play any of their games cause in the end its just gonna get abandoned while they move on and make another game so they can abandon it again. Even after everything though I can't do anything but hope this game gets the love it deserves one day.
This game is fundamentally better than Overwatch 2 and Marvel Rivals will ever be.
PLEASE SAVE THIS GAME
I can't move on because I simply can't find something like this. This game and its characters were unique. I love Ying, Inara, Raum, Ruckus and Evie!
Please Hi-Rez... Sell the IP and the game itself to another company... It's literally SO much better than Rivals and Overwatch and seeing it collecting dust breaks my heart...
I hope one day this game can make a come back, such a shame how the developers gave up on this game. I tried OW and MR nothing even close to how fun Paladdin is. The amazing flexibility in every match you never truly know the opoonent's plan. Even as healer i can be a flank, yes, flanking Seris is my main hero hehehe. I MISS THIS GAME SO MUCH. . Hopefuly one day something good will happen, till then, I can only cherish the good time.
It's been a fun ride Paladins, too bad your company seems to hate their own game. Also, who asked for Pepper? Who wanted that?
