Our Home, My Keeper

Has a few moments that have slight horror vibes but nothing serious. Otherwise a nice story about an unexpected relationship and some untold secrets complicating things. Could do with a bit more clean up of grammar mistakes and typos though based on my time reading it which was before any patches.

I too want my own brownie in my cozy cottage (but minus the imps please, they're giving the itch).

(This strongly needs a neutral option for sure.) I haven't read much ebi-hime, so I'm not sure how she contributed to this, but what I got out of this is that it's pretty standard Studio Elan fare. You've got a strong, independent lesbian writer trying to find inspiration for her next book, and she finds it in a literal brownie fairy named Faye. There's some nonsense about how evil imps are trying to control her and Violet and how Faye keeps them at bay while she's trying to sort out her issues. The drama with Violet is overblown and the way it is resolved is beyond unbelievable/also quite childish. It's all solved with a little bit of pixie dust much in the same way events got resolved in "Heart of the Woods." There were some elements I did like though. The fact that she fell in love with a possessed doll is really quite interesting, and there's also the impact of her experience on how she would later write a successful children's book later in the VN. It had a lot of potential as a serious story if they had taken it a little more seriously than a fairy tale themselves. (When I say "they," I'm talking about the writers). There was also a lot of potential with how the previous residents' tragedy could have affected the building itself. I think it's too quickly resolved/glossed over in the actual VN, but it could have been shown in more detail. Of course, Niamh and her dollmaking deserved more time in the VN as well. Ultimately, it's a pleasant little waste of time with a lot of promising story elements if they could have been bothered to expand it a bit and chosen to make it a bit longer. Alas, all you get is this sketch/rough draft of that. Recommended if you like yuri fluff. Not recommended if you want a serious story.
