This game had a very rocky release which wasn't an ideal circumstance for any small indie game of its type, but the sheer talent and effort on display is actually very impressive for a project of its scope. A game that explores themes very unique to a generation who grew up on the internet, written and created by people who know the material by heart, it creates an extremely unique experience that I haven't really seen anywhere else. As a game, puzzles can be kind of insanely cryptic and require some moonlogic thinking, but considering it's the game's main content, its perfectly reasonable, and some of the puzzles make me feel like my brain is glowing with power. The story is something I feel anyone who's spent any significant amount of time on the internet getting stuck into the subcultures should experience, with a lot of callbacks and references to fads, topics and jokes from years past, as well as a window into what the internet itself can represent for many people and serves as a better warning to anyone who is trying to turn their own life into the internet.
I am obsessed with this game. I played the demo on my own and I recently played the module 01 with my sister. The story is incredibly captivating and there's so so much lore to dig through. I love the commentary this game has on internet culture and I'm in love the the strange relationship the devs all had with each other. I want to know more. My sister and I were theorizing the entire playthrough and there were many moments where we just sat slack jawed in front of the screen in shock. This game is amazing. One slight complaint I have is the puzzles. At some points during the game, we were just so incredibly frustrated at the puzzles that it didn't feel fun anymore. We had to look up hints for most of them and even then we were banging our heads against a wall. To be fair, some things we didn't get because we missed or forgot a detail, but a lot of the puzzles aren't intuitive or are even counter intuitive. We had a lot more fun with the room puzzles (mostly because I had already done them in the demo and I could help my sister through them). I think having hard puzzles is completely fine as long as the players reaction at the end is "YES I DID IT!" and not "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ finally". Overall though, I would love to see more from the devs. I love the game, EE, CT, and SS, and I love the world it takes place in. It's insane to me that more people haven't played this and that I can't find many playthroughs online. This game deserves to be at the top of the charts.

I have really liked oneway.exe, the environments are aesthetically pleasing for me and bring me back to older games, every room and screen feels like it has its own personality, the puzzles hit a nice balance where they make me stop and think but don’t feel cheap, so when something finally clicks it’s actually satisfying instead of frustrating, and the way the story slowly unfolds around those moments keeps it interesting the whole way through. The audio does a great job setting the mood without getting in the way, and overall, as someone who likes puzzle games, this has been a really solid horror spin on that and a well put together experience all around.
Ive loved this game for a long time, I remember watching the demo playthrough and some bits of the full game acouple years ago. I ended up forgetting about it and randomly remembered it, now that I have actually played it. I still really love it, the characters and story and art are really good and i'm honestly surprised to see the ARG is still ongoing? or atleast the discord is still very active. That being said, it's not a perfect game and I have experienced afew bugs/ weird gameplay but I like it. It kind of gives the game some charm, nothing can be perfect afterall and i'm too determined to stop playing just because of afew glitches when im this invested. I loved it as a demo and I still love it now 8.9/10
weird game, some stuff went over my head but its got a vibe i eff with
The game is just a big (huge) cryptic ARG. It has its public but, sadly, that's not me. Each puzzle became tedious and boring, not intriguing.
I discovered oneway.exe during the module and this game is fantastic and such a unique experience. The amount of references to periods of internet history and a clear love for the horror genre. The puzzles are unique and fun and while they can be difficult at times there is always a very fun payoff for figuring them out. The characters are where oneway truly shines for me, every single character in oneway has had some form of emotional impact on me. Of course some have had bigger impacts than others, but the games characters truly feel like a lot of people will find enjoyment from them. The art and music for oneway are also phenomenal, the visual identity of each character and the generally aesthetics of the game are incredible to see and the music is amazing and I love listening to the soundtrack. The voice actors also really help bring the game alive. In general I highly highly recommend oneway.exe to anyone, but especially if you are a fan of horror.
