About
Once Upon a Galaxy is a fast-paced, free-to-play card battler of cosmic proportions. Captain a crew of characters from myth and fairytale lore into battle across a spectacular galaxy in search of allies, spells, and treasures to ensure your ultimate victory!

Begin each game by selecting a Captain with its own unique effect.
Will you choose Dorothy to help complete her friends’ quests? Or Dragonmother to discover what hatches from her Mysterious Egg? Play as Indiana Clones to "clone" your best three treasures, or lead a troupe of toys as Geppetto!

More captains are released each month, so there’s always something new to try!

Galaxy features an eclectic cast to help you on your journey. Recruit characters and cast spells each round to prepare for your next challenge. Carefully position your cards while planning your turn—then enjoy their auto-battle against other captains and crews!

Upgrade your crew throughout the game. Character-copies give bonuses and discover powerful treasures. Enhance your board directly to keep buffs as you replace characters. The most powerful cards appear later in the game—find a Legendary crew to help make you the last captain standing!

You can capably lead any odd character, but your most powerful crews will come from smartly-selected synergies. Combine treasure effects with characters’ abilities for powerful outcomes. Leverage powerful character factions, each with their own focus, such as treasure-loving Dragons, spell-enhanced Mages, or Toys which summon additional characters during the fight!

In addition to the common pool of cards you encounter each game, each captain commands its own list of collectible elite characters to customize your plans. Select 12 cards before the game—they’ll be mixed into your card pool to potentially draw!

No timers, no pressure. Galaxy's matchmaking and async-multiplayer mean you can battle fun-but-challenging opponents whenever you want. Face real boards from other human players’ earlier games. Your finished run will join the opponent pool for others to challenge. It's fast, strategic, and endlessly fun!
When you're ready to crank up the intensity, you can play with friends in 6-player live lobbies... warning: live lobbies are the ultimate competitive experience!

While our Steam build is great for the desktop experience, Galaxy is also available on your phone or tablet! With a cross-platform account, you can sync your progress no matter which device you use and so can explore Galaxy on-the-go!

Once Upon a Galaxy is created by Million Dreams Games, an indie studio boasting a talented team. Our leads have worked on iconic games like Magic: The Gathering, Hearthstone, and Runeterra. We’re diehard fans of the card and auto-battler genres.
We believe in building a fully-functional free-to-play experience. We partner with wonderful artists to bring our vision to life (no AI artwork is used in Galaxy).
If you love our game too (we think you will!) and want to support us, you can boost your collection rewards or style your favorite cards with alternate-art skins. A monthly Galaxy Pass offers both!

Give Galaxy a try and experience the thrill of this groundbreaking card battler.

Love this game as much as if not more than oaken tower/bazaar but this game has a step up on bazaar by using no ai artwork, theres an astounding number of cards and captains to play with compared to bazaars like 8 or so characters and oaken towers 12 packs, all good games but this is a very serious contender and games take a fraction of the time. its fun its quick, ftp feels fine too highly reccomend.
Typical asymetrical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, opponents will be several turns ahead of you, have units with impossible stats out of nowhere and the "rng" will play out exactly how it needs to to screw you over no matter how specific that has to be it happens and not randomly, on the regular, its disgusting and don't get me started about the complete lack of game balance and sheer amount of cards that should never have been released the way they are and never get nerfed.

Magnifico autobattle, me deja con ganas de partidas mas largas la verdad, se pueden hacer combos relocos. Si me das un solo player de esto te doy mi dinero, gracias.
Suffers from Meta Hell, fun until you hit a certain rank. The only solution is more balance and remove candy. Candy is such a stupid mechanic, either its useless late game because you never invested or its utterly broken because you have a candy captain, allowing you to invest early and snowball.
No More 2D Card Games! I thought it would at least do something else
They're adding a permanent reroll button ( that you have to pay for ) in order for you to cycle through your set of 3 hero. Don't have to say more than this, get this game out of here
good love it
The game concept is fun and a very cool twist on autobattlers in that you can craft a deck for each specific Captain, who each have special abilities similar to Hearthstone's heroes. Once you play long enough, you realize this is, like most CCGs in the modern era, just a scheme to make you pay more money. Not only do you need to get each specific card, you need to get each specific card FOR EACH SPECIFIC CAPTAIN. There's something close to 50 Cpts and more get added all the time. So that means you need multiple copies of every card. Not 3 or 4, like other games, but around a dozen for niche cards and 30 or 40 for cards that are good in a large number of decks. On top of this, while the fact that I don't need to wait for a timer for battles to happen is cool, the fact that I'm playing pre-programmed decks that don't have live pilots adapting to my strategy is less than exciting. It's not really 'PVP' as much as "PV some other decks people at your rank made before you played." Overall, some cool concepts but some 'features' make the game less strategic and the money grab is brutal.
Beware getting lost in the autobattler mines... Surely, you can do just one more... Oh no, where did 6 hours go...
Absolutely. If you like strategic thinking I really think you will like this. It's so rewarding to put together a totally broken deck from stacking buffs and can sometimes interact through 3 or 4 steps of stacking buffage. If you like coming up with broken builds in a card game... you will be able to do that here... and do it very regularly. And you can make so many truly different types of builds. And to make matters even better... there are other people(asynchronously) on the other end to give you a run for your money, no matter how broken your build might be. A truly satisfying and fun game. And it's free... give it a try. And yes... it does have real money purchases. But as far as I can see everything can be unlocked for free. So don't be turned off by that. It's just funding what is a really well thought out and implemented game.
