“I’m the Batter. I’ve been entrusted with a sacred mission.” -- One of the most influential RPGs of the last 20 years is finally coming to Steam. Take control of the Batter as he seeks to purify an uncanny and hopeless world haunted by specters, guided by a cryptic, grinning cat called The Judge.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.57/day in the week to Aug 15 → 4.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
I must say, this is really quite strange. You are the first living being I have ever met in this place. Nevertheless, I will introduce myself. I am the Judge.

He seeks to purify the world. You, then, the controller, the soul that he harbors, must aid him in this laudable task. Alongside my sportive companion you will find it necessary to solve puzzles, rain blows upon certain hostile individuals of our wild zones, and oversee the headways and logistics of a network of swan boats and interurban locomotives.
Open your wings and fly toward the zones ahead without hesitation! All of them are filled with strange and enchanting beings as well as every modern convenience. All of them appear, it must be said, to require the beneficient application of our friend the Batter’s muscular wrist. Do not worry, my dear phantasm—I, the Judge, will be with you (in spirit and body) at all the most crucial moments of your quest.

How dare you talk to me? Why have you decided to be such a pain in my ass? The Queen chose me to protect Zone 1, and I've dedicated my whole life to it.
Listen. Get out of here, and take those ghosts with you, or I am going to kill you. I hope that's clear enough.

Turn it OFF
loved the original, love the remake. You deserve a reward.
The story is amazing. The concept incredible. The music off the charts. The visuals beautiful. But the gameplay is tedious. So so so so so tedious. Clearing the worlds for the first time is a great experience, but once you go back through them to fight the hidden bosses, it feels like all the quality is gone. Plain empty worlds where you are stopped to fight 1-3 of the same enemy which has only one attack over and over and over again. Fine, it sucks for a moment, but at least the bosses are cool? No. The early, main bosses are some of the coolest ive ever seen in a game. But once you start doing the hidden ones, again all the quality is gone. Bosses that just remove your special abilities so it takes forever to kill them. Bosses that just have a crazy amount of health. And the worst is the boss that has a single attack loop which results in you getting to do like 5 damage each turn. I don't really understand the point of that either. The game is not particularily difficult. I don't remember dying much, if at all. So why make these boring fights last 40 minutes? I dropped the game at Cob. I was going for 100% completion but at this point it feels like I'm running a marathon in a foot of water. I really had hopes for this one, but I would not recommend. Especially for $20 when this is a redo of an old rpgmaker game which happens to be free elsewhere.

This game isn’t fun. It just pissed me OFF
after playing this great game I can proudly say that I still find baseball extremely boring
I watched a playthrough of the original OFF once, but it had been so long that my playthrough of this version was basically a blind one. context out of the way, here's what I thought: there are several things in this game that are annoying and kind of disrespectful of the player's time. looping mazes where every room is identical, random encounters still happening in puzzle rooms, inconsistent rules that can only be discerned through brute forcing, etc. HOWEVER: this is still a beautiful experience that is well worth forgiving those missteps for. it's a strange, haunting story in a strange, haunting world with strange, haunting music and it made me feel emotions I don't think the English language has words for. the combat is unique, though not particularly challenging. depending on how hard you like your games, that could be a pro or a con. all in all, I recommend it, just be ready to look stuff up when you need to.
This game makes me wish for a "mixed" review option. The gameplay is solid if you're into RPGs although it felt a little too easy to get stacked up on healing items without even having to buy any, and the puzzles are alright if a bit simple at times (I think the best "puzzles" wound up being figuring out how to plan a strategy around certain boss fight gimmicks rather than the actual puzzles). The worldbuilding is incredible and I felt a constant sense of intrigue that spurred me to want to explore deeper and uncover every secret and learn everything I can only for the payoff to be an abysmal third act as the facade of an interesting story slips, revealing a contradictory vague mess that culminates in
forcing you to murder a child only for the game to blame you (not your player character but the player as an individual behind the screen) for a senseless act of violence you were given no choice but to partake in.
I was genuinely in disbelief of how a game that started out so well could end so poorly. If you're willing to look past one of the worst endings to a game you'll ever play then it's a pretty fun RPG, I'm still leaning towards a positive review because I did have a lot of fun playing through the game but the final area and ending afterwards being as disappointing as they were has left a sour taste in my mouth.
A huge inspiration to tricky tony, and a huge inspiration to me as well. This game messes so hard. Prior to I think, September 15th??? I had never heard of this game before. If you asked me anything about this game I wouldn't even know what an "OFF" was. However, that all changed eventually. I think the way I found out about this game was someone mentioning it in the soundtrack of another, (I think it was blocktales and it's third chapter.) how they had stated it had felt like OFF. I was curious about this, so I checked out what this game was. For a very good while now, I've wanted to be a game developer, making something akin to a turn-based RPG. Once I discovered about OFF and saw it was one as well, I wanted to get the game to sort of, "study" how they are. I fell in love with it afterwards. Dude, I cannot tell you how much I love this game, for the longest time, (before Endacopia,) it was my favorite of all time! The story is genuinely amazing. It left me feeling like a parasite was latching onto my brain afterwards because of how much I loved it and kept thinking about it. This game gets dark at times, and boy did it make it much more insane. Literally putting together the pieces in real time was so surreal and an awesome experience. The soundtrack was the most insane thing ever, it was like a smash bros, "everyone is here" mash-up. They got the guys for Oneshot, Camellia was in it, TOBY RADIATION FOX, they guy who was heavily inspired by this game, was in it. There are some insane bangers in this soundtrack, whether it's PHOENIX, HOUR HAND, or WHITE CARCASS, it was insane. I know that nostalgia for the original ruined it for others, but this may be because it was my first taste of OFF, I thought it was great. OFF has a special place in my heart. I really wanna be develop my own game, so when I got this one to see how the genre is, and seeing how beautiful it was, I loved it. It really did inspire me, similar to it with toby. My love for the game is HUGE. I listened to the music a ton, watched other people play it, and more. Laying on my desk, underneath my keyboard as I'm typing this, is the desk mat from Fangamer of OFF. Hell, I even made the batter's bat, sitting in my room right now. If you're a fan of turn-based RPGs', or games with huge stories, I highly suggest OFF. My rating: 9.7/10.
