About
Octohill is a casual ski resort simulator where you can try to build and manage your own resort on one of the countless mountain maps. You will be drawing trails and terraforming slopes, managing finances, transportation, construction and maintenance, but the game main focus is on careful planning.
In Octohill, you are building your ski resort from scratch. You will be choosing best spots on the slopes, prepare terrain and mark areas for the trails, connect them to ski lifts and public roads and provide all the services your visitors look for. With intuitive building mechanics and fixed grid layout you may relax and focus on planning and creativity.
Your resort will attract very few visitors in the beginning, but as you cater to their needs your reputation will rise, allowing more people on your slopes and bigger incomes in your bills. Every skier has their own preferences and skills, keep that in mind when planning another expansion as you need to keep your resort profitable and your visitors satisfied.
Octohill comes with several default maps based on the real world locations such as French Alps or Rocky Mountains, which you can use to recreate one of the famous resorts. But if you get bored with them, you may also try highly customizable procedurally generated maps, or even use your own heightmap image.

I really like this game. it is simple yet so fun, just a good game to relax to if you're tired. Definitely worth $9.
This a surpringly good game, considering the low price and that it was made by only 1? person. Sure, it has its flaws: Like the terrain tool which does not always work in your favour. Same for streets etc. (also terrain-problem) Or missing QoL features like relocating a building after you realize you placed it on the wrong place or in a wrong direction. Also building slopes is kind of a hazzle because of the "blocky-ness" of this game. (luckily there is a tool to make building slopes easier) I even considered refunding it after 2 hours because I was frustrated but decided not to and instead try to understand how this game works. Right now the game will NOT hold your hand and cuddle you. (I am looking at YOU: "Tutorial-Help-Pictures") For example: I couldn't place the damn 2nd lift on the hill, took me some time to figure out it was because the first lift-tower in the valley was blocked by the "skiing zone") --> normally you get an info why you can't place it but the game only says something like "obstructed", where and why? Figure it out on your own ;) And the longer you play (I started alot of new games) the more you dive into it and begin to understand the physics etc. Another example: Why is the whole street jammed with 100s of cars and nothing isn't moving anymore? Oh, I just need to build a bus terminal not only a bus stop! I have both now = better!!1! Why is the street still full of cars??? Let my delete the old bus-stop.... Voilà now it works! and so on... On my last save (Japan map) I started at 18:00 'o clock and had to force myself to go to bed at 3:00 in the night. Got lost in expanding, trying new deep-snow-slopes and stalking visitors to get feedback what to improve. This game gets you when you are "in the zone" and crossed the 50% mark of knowledge you need to have. Snowtopia (abandoned!!!) may look more "appealing" on first glance but in reality Octohill is much more well designed. I know: another Ski-Tycoon is in the making *happy* but it will still take a while and if you are a fan of this niche, like me, you should consider supporting this game for this little price and give it a try. Don't "Youtube" the game! These "influencers with a free key" mostly only play the tutorial and kind of fail (like myself in the first 2 hours) That doesn’t do the game justice at all! Dev wanted to create this game because there were no good alternatives (Dev wrote this somewhere in the comments) and every sell motivates the Dev to improve this already good game. @dev: Thanks for 20+ hours of fun & pain - hope you can improve your vision and expand your game. Amen and out.
Good balance between creative, management and kind of puzzle. Despite some limitations in freedom due to the whole game being a grid, it gives you lots of opportunities to create your own world. It still is sometimes a bit out of balance, especially in the beginning if you do not yet know really what the impact of certain buildings are. The tools WILL take a moment to understand correctly, and will definitely result in restarting the game a few times, but that is also part of the challenge. The developer is very active and open for suggestions, so there will definitely come a lot of improvements/additions!
I want to like this game so much but just creating simple slopes is too challenging right now. Gotta fix the slope creation tool to let us dive into it.
The game's fun, and the tutorial is pretty good except for the fact that they don't tell you that lifts can't be placed on trails. There are a few issues with the game, however: Sometimes roads, even when placed on slopes, stay flat. Public roads can be deleted too easily (at least give a warning), as they allow people to you know, actually reach the resort. Visitors will try to go on a trail right after it has been deleted. Even with multiple of the same lifts going to the same place, visitors will only go to one, rendering the others useless. Other than that the game is really fun,
PLEASE TRY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
10$ is a steal
L'aspect gestion économique est anecdotique, c'est par contre plutot un jeu de création de pistes/remontées mécaniques. Interessant pour le moment en espérant que le jeu s'ettoffera dans le futur. Bonne diversité dans les scénarios de départ
