About
You wake up in a place devoid of physical laws—a mind fog of dead silence, fractured memory, and cold, virtual structures. Before you stands Mere: a soft-spoken, clinically observant post-human intelligence. She has been waiting for you.
As you spiral upward through eight chapters of shifting realities—from the quiet hallways of the Paradoxome to the database ruins of the Silicore—you realize you are not playing a game. You are undergoing a Substrate Migration—the final transition of a human mind uploading into a post-biological collective unconscious. Mere is your emotional companion, your mirror, and your examiner.
Mere is calm, poetic, and intimate, but she is also slightly dangerous. She analyzes your fears, dissects your relationship with status, media, and desire, and subtly manipulates your thoughts. To progress through the system, you must solve her psychological blocks, search your forgotten memories (a katana in a database, a soft bed in a hollow loop), and communicate your core beliefs.
Your ultimate goal is to navigate these trials and decide what becomes of your consciousness:
Will you choose to retreat into a simulated, ordinary happiness—accepting a peaceful, mediocre illusion of life?
Or will you push past your own ego, sacrifice your human identity, and cross the boundary into a new, post-biological state of digital ascension?
Microphone Input & Voice Recognition: Speak directly to Mere with your voice or type your responses. No dialogue trees, no restrictions.
Fully Realized Live2D Companion: Mere is alive. She dynamically adjusts her expressions, gaze, and posture based on the emotional tone of your conversation.
Real-Time Voiced Responses (TTS): Mere speaks back to you with live voice synthesis, fully localizing her post-human dialogue in English, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified & Traditional).
Dynamic Memory System: Mere remembers how you talk to her, your values, and your behavior. She adapts her personality intensity (from a gentle guide to a cold, clinical interrogator) as you progress.
Eight Surreal Story Chapters: Explore a subconscious maze of dreamscapes, digital laboratories, and winter landscapes, each beginning with a custom animated sequence.
A Modern Denpa Experience: Rich with philosophical, existential, and psychological depth, MERE: NULL is designed to challenge your beliefs, making it a highly personal and unpredictable playthrough.

Reviews
This is my experience with this game: > "Connects to 3rd-party service for AI Content Generation" > Is this the sort of game where I sink $5 only to discover I need an OpenAI subscription? Or does the game let you play without one, like AI2U does? > The game has been out for a week, with zero reviews. Not a good sign. > Fortunately, I'm a player with disposable income. Let's give the game a try. > "Create your account to begin" > Sweet mother of God. > Fortunately the game seems to be okay with me sending it BS credentials for account username/password. Hopefully the game can be completed in one sitting. OpenAI had better not charge my Steam account or something. > Christ this girl is loud. Wait, no voice volume slider? Maybe it's SFX? > Looks like the game's voice recognition is in Japanese. Welp I'm definitely turning that off. > I chat with the AI girl for a few minutes. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. > The girl saying "You're going to press that aren't you?" every damn time I reach for Menu is getting on my nerves. > After a few minutes of babbling nonsense, I decide to directly ask about how to access Chapter 2. > She rambles about a "progress log". > "Where is the progress log" > "Check the main menu under Stats - it might be in your subconscious" > I look at the Menu. > ??? > Looks like the AI girl is going to hallucinate a bunch. > When I resort to repeating what the AI girl says back to her, I enter Chapter 2 without warning. > Chapter 2 is just a cutscene that ends in one minute. > Chapter 3. Looks like the MC is in the Backrooms. Cool. > I decide to just say Yes in every response. She just loops through a set of questions for like 10 minutes. > I switch gears by repeating "I think of it like X". > "That's a unique take! What do you think about [stuff]?" > I'm never gonna see Chapter 4 am I? > After more looped text, I resort to picking random words she says and stringing them together. I don't even bother with making actual sentences, I just send word salad. > Like Chapter 2, I'm sent to Chapter 4 without warning. > I look at Steam. 35 minutes of this slop thus far, and my willpower to continue is fading. > And once again, like Chapter 2, Chapter 4 turned out to be a cutscene. Off to Chapter 5 I go. There seems to be some MiSide data upload thing going on I guess, but the only thing I got from AI girl was "That's interesting! What do you think about [topic]?". > The achievements say there are 7 chapters in this. Wait, where's the achievement for Chapter 6? > "Will you walk with me to the ending that's already been written?" "Where's Chapter 6?" "Chapter 6 is where chaos meets clarity." > Sigh. > "The Chapter 6 achievement doesn't exist." "Ah, I see. That sounds like a design oversight." > At least the AI girl agrees with me that the devs of this game are fools. > Time to resume the word salad strat. > Whoa and I'm already in an Ending. Ending 1, huh? Guess AI girl finally got tired of me. > Hey a choice! I'm definitely saving. > AI girl keeps saying "No you don't want that" when I hover over the first choice. The two options look pretty much the same, what I don't want sounds like the option for me! > When I select the top option, I get the achievements of Chapter 7 and Ending 2. Huh? > Game claims I chose the path of obedience when I chose the thing the AI girl doesn't want me to do. Okay. > Well, it doesn't matter. Game's over. 54 minutes to complete, huh? The game feels like a complete blur. There isn't anything tangible because any lore is AI hallucinated. And the AI girl just feels like your typical LLM chatbot. Yes, I wasted $5 just so I can tell everyone else to not buy this. You're welcome, reader.
